The Bundeswehr has prussian traditions: - Drill -Light Infantry(thats why they dont goose step) -Barrets(1st used in the Napoleonic Wars) -Uniforms(field-grey), (Marine and Air Force uniforms are basicly the same as the Wehrmacht/ Reichswehr ones) -Rifle(Karrabiner K 98K) -Marching Music -Wachbattalion("guard batalion", prussian "1. Garderegiment zu Fuß" ) If you think that goose stepping or wearing a Pickelhaube/Stahlhelm are the only prussian traditions than you should probably shut your mouth because you dont have any idea. The goose step was only used in two occasions: 1) Marching past 2) Guard changing If there is no occassion like that, the goose step won't be used. The Bundeswehr sees itself as prussian "Light Infantry" which never goose steped. Only the "Line Infantry" marched in goose step at one of these two ocassions. The rest marched in the prussian "Gleichschritt" which the Bundeswehr still does. And parades where quite rare at the of the German Empire. So just shut up and stop complaining about the Bundeswehr. Everything they do is traditional according to the prussian drill rules. Greetings from a former german soldier🇩🇪
@GentlemanlyOtter4 жыл бұрын
Ok but i have one question. Why the bunderswehr only consists of light infantry?
@TheEmperor20044 жыл бұрын
@@GentlemanlyOtter Because the former "heavy infantry"/"line infantry" is now part of the tank-division/pioneers. The actuall infantry only consists of "Jäger". And the goose step of the "heavy infantry"/"line infantry" was actually rarely practised in the times of the "Imperial Armed Forces". The Wehrmacht did it more often but the Bundeswehr has the original imperial german/prussian tradition. Hitler broke the tradition by letting everyone goose step and changing the structures of the prussian regiments. All in all goose stepping and the uniforms are a small part of the traditions. Military Music, drill, structures of the units, etc are overall a bigger tradition than a step or the clothing.

@joenight96934 жыл бұрын
@@tasospatriwtis396 Well two years later and I get to see this question. Let me still answer it. Helmets and Boots are reserved for very special occasions only. There are two kinds of Dressuniforms being worn in the German Military. For the Army and the Airforce these are the "kleiner Dienstanzug" (small Dressuniform, which sports the dressuniform, with beret/side cap and dress shoes) and the "großer Dienstanzug" (big Dressuniform, sporting the dressuniform, helmet, boots and the Koppel a big uniform belt of sorts). While the Navy has the "erste Geige" and "zweite Geige" or "Wachgeige" which in turn in turn sports the sailor dress together with dress shoes or the sailor dress sporting the sailor cap with a white cover and boots. While weapons and a military band may look special from the outside, it's the dress that determines how special the occasion really is. If you see german soldiers marching in their BDU but wearing helmets without camocovers, a black belt over their tunics and gloves, you better believe you're in for something special. If they take of their helmets or whatever headgear they're wearing, well you managed to stumble in on something REALLY special. Or you are at an airfield or inside. ;-) And if by any chance you stumble in on an occasion where this song is being played (kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpvXh2ymbMx-eNE) please show respect, it's the song to remember and honour our dead.

Yes is true, she keep the 'preussisch tradition'. This is complete loss in the Bundeswehr; regrettable, i hope one day this come back..
@Ruhrpottpatriot8 жыл бұрын
***** Not really, no. The only tradition is lost, was the goose step when parading past a guest of honour. But since we don't parade past a person any more (we have other PRUSSIAN traditions, which were more common btw) it's not a great loss. Really NVA and BW were identical in their traditions up to 95%

XD
