You clearly put a lot of work into your vids, they are extremely informative. I think it's one of the best on the internet, but I tend to favour gemcutters and their followers in general. No bickering, just amazement at the beautiful work you all do.

@@GermanGemcutter oh boy;3, do u think purple one worth polishing or better leave it as is?
@GermanGemcutter3 жыл бұрын
@@Amberscape Yes you can polish it, with the Dremel it should work very well. It has to be cutted wet and it is essential to wear respiratory protection (silicosis). If possible, polish with Alumina or Cerium oxide on hard felt. The Colors become more intense and if you get a nice, uneven but smooth shape through cutting and polishing, you also get very nice light effects on and in the Stone.

@@GermanGemcutter damnn i have zero experience with cutting gemstones or anything hard not sure which dremel tips to use, wouldnt want to experiment on a gem like that as my first:/

@@Amberscape For the preforming you need a Diamond bur in 180grit after that use nova tips from 260 or 600 up to 3k grit (i only know two shops in europe where you find nova tips, Italy and Austria) For the prepolishing and polishing a carver start using diamond polishing paste from 8k up to 30k, 50k or 100k on felt. Diamond paste are expensive, and if you not wanna cut or carve a lot of stones it is better to use an oxide after the 3k nova, more work but cheaper. A week ago Karen from Ozone Fine Art Ventures has uploaded a carving Video, check this out kzbin.info/www/bejne/e17TYneZfJ6Be5I
