A korean will find it alot easier to learn Japanese and Chinese then english or german. Because they are more closely related. For those of us who are European its alot easier to learn german and english then Korean. I am from Sweden and Swedish tv is 60% american or british content and its only subtitled into swedish and not dubbed. Also you start learning english around the age of 7 and in combination of with mostly american media most swedish people understand English fluently at around 13-15. I think its even earlier now because of glabalisation. in sweden people under 50-60 is pretty good at english. I know german would be quite easy to learn although the Swedish grammar is more like dutch and english. But i think around 30-50 percent of Swedish nouns are derived from German. But not grammar. I lived in Austria for a year and got so suprised how similar it was . I didn´t bother learning german tho cause i knew I was there for such a short amount of time. Most of my friends were also foreigners or spoke good english.

I don't think they're just flattering Lina when they say how pretty she is~ The realist in me thinks that's the best way to motivate people to learn a foreign language - introduce them to someone attractive who speaks that language ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Fraulein Lina, good job on psyching out those students! It's hard enough speaking in front of people who speak your language and expect you to do so, it's even tougher when you've got "foreign" students in front of you haha Also, amazing job reading the Klasse advertisement stuff - your inflection sounded like something I WOULD expect from a tv or radio advert for the place! The Korean teacher's German is sooo amazing. She sounds like a native speaker. I study German at uni, but my professor's pronunciation is too terrible lol I think a lot of Korean people are really good at languages, especially pronunciation. Of course in other countries, there are many people can speak other languages well too, but Korean people are at much higher level near native. I know, for example, Swiss people can speak some languages at native level. But it's because they have raised in that languages, in other hand, even Korean haven't, they speak really well.
