Hai Jonas, I'm from Indonesia, thankyou for your sharing your experience, living in here. Masya Allah, Hearing your story, really wake me up as a moslem in INdonesia. Its true I have a very supportive environment to do ibadah. This actually lead me to do it as a routine activity and not much struggling in searching deep islamic value. Listening on how difficult your effort in your country just to make sholah so you both appreciate every minute that you have to connect to the Creator. Once again thank you for both of you in sharing your experiences. It really help me to also reflect on my level of iman. May Allah bless you always, aamiin.

Seeing two white European Muslims converse about Islam is very encouraging, despite all the opposition to the Religion of Allah(swt) out there. The Face of Islam in Europe is gradually changing. May Allah(swt) soften the HARD HEARTS of more and more Europeans. Ameen.

Salam. I'm new to this channel. I watched a couple of your videos and noticed your dissatisfaction with born muslim around you who don't take religion seriously compare to muslim reverts. I can understand that. Although I was born in practicing muslim family, I also have my own dissatisfaction. I think it is important for you to learn about this problem so that it will not happen to your children or your grandchildren. My suggestion, maybe you can do an interview with Maliki Clique because his advice to muslim parent really resonate with me. He reverted to Islam 30 years ago and one of his children left Islam. You will definitely learn a lot from his experience.

19:36 well said, Quran is so simple yet it deep and precise at the same time. and most people didn't know or want to know or want to contemplate in it. Don't get hope up on "Muslim majority and Born Muslim" it's actually the same feeling for born Muslims who practice and looking the surrounding like myself it's strange it is but most of them that we say "not practicing" they themself didn't actually choose to learn their religion, so yeah. it's strange but what we can do is just remind them to read and hopefully they learn and start practicing again. and I saw people who said they are Muslim because their parents and whatnot but didn't know any Surah to read or even pray, so idk if they are a muslim or not anymore. xd

I am from Turkey with armenian background. I moved to US because I had a teacher about 20 years ago in Turkey whom I learned most of my islamic knowledge. One day he said, we are not that effective on the world right now because we are not civilized anymore and cannot represent Islam properly. One day muslims with their blonde beards will show up and explain/represent islam much better than us, then whole world will listen. His school of tought also embraced the importance of science in islam and pointed that the sun will rise from the west in Ahir zaman (the later times). That's why I moved to US, but here I am alone and I feel very weak in my faith. Allah doesnt need anyone, Islam is absolute truth and truthseeker will find it even if I don't exist. I only pray Allah would judge me in the same group with you in afterlife and mercy me and take me to even the lowest level of Jannah. May Allah be with you and make you powerful/rich yet humble my brothers. Assalamu Aleikum

Alhamdullilah, brothers Jan and Yunus for this wonderful dialogue. It is also very isolating for born Muslims because we are rejected by the born Muslim Ummah for following non-cultural traditional Islam. Sadly, the Indian/Pakistani Muslim community from which I originate has adopted westernized lifestyles. Eid is a materialistic celebration -- I went to an Eid-ul-Fitr held at a school, and there was loud Punjabi pop music blaring away, and people were gorging food like no tomorrow and talking about their latest new expensive car. I volunteer in animal rescue, knit and sew my own clothes, love working in my veggie garden and have converted the land outside my home from a pointless lawn to a pollinator-friendly garden full of native perennials, shrubs and trees -- but it's a lonely life because those are not activities that Muslims in general are interested in.

Tbh brother you are actually in a good position for Slovakia. Starting a masjid for your own community reflects better on the local population. Unfortunately due to immigration since the 90s one of the biggest challenges facing European Muslims is the association of the religion with the immigrants. Now that may not be a bad thing arguably but bearing in mind human beings work on a group basis and identity is very important. Otherwise why would Allah outline this point in the Quran? He could have made us one community. Coming from a country of 100% Muslims I see my peers as my reflection. That’s how Islam spread from one local to another and that’s still the method until this day. That is why when slovakians look at you now they will be more inclined to see Islam differently when they see you. This is not to be made offensive but it’s a reality. A Chinese would much easier take dawah from a Hui Muslim speaking the same language and similar cultures than a Uzbek only miles away. I think Europeans should garner their own associations and that’s not separatism but cultural preservation which is very Islamic. I think there were convert groups from Scotland and England that did that from the 60s😊. I am not European by blood but saw many converts lean to a spiritually dead form of Islam alienating their families and making decisions based on other Muslims from different cultural realities. This leads to alienation and apostasy unfortunately. I understand why they go that path as it’s seems east and accessible and also you have a high Eman at the beginning. But boy once those trials hit! You need the support . Plus Traditionally one would consider the urf of cultural contexts when it comes to decisions to ensure it’s easy on the people(beyond the core foundations). I think it’s important as to protect your community. Allah strengthen and bless you as I am sure it’s not easy on you. I truly pray to Allah to illuminate your path and bestow goodness on you and your family. Strengthen you to overcome any obstacles.

Even born Muslims have to *choose* Islam at some point. The disparity between practicing and non-practicing Muslims in Muslim-majority countries is much less. Like you would find all levels of holding on to the deen. As Allah subhanah says in surah Fatir ayah 32: "Then We granted the Book to those We have chosen from Our servants. Some of them wrong themselves, some follow a middle course, and some are foremost in good deeds by Allah’s Will. That is ˹truly˺ the greatest bounty." It's levels, may Allah make us among the best of believers. But there are also people who claim Islam but don't pray which is kufr or fall into kufri aqeedah or shirk or secularists and other kufr ideologies. May Allah keep us steadfast.

Explanation of Quran chapter 87:1-4 There is Intelligent design. Have your seen the fine tuning: eyebrow hair does not grow but the hair on your head does. There is intentionality. It’s a biased selection not a random selection. Grass --> cattle --> mankind constitutes a food chain. When livestock pasture withered away, life stopped. Surprisingly, nature had to figure out how to make rain a recurrent process. The laws and elements that make up our survival are coming together. We are certain that it’s impossible for them to come together naturally unless there is intentionality. Therefore, a supernatural power must identify himself, claim ownership of the universe and clarify the purpose of life. He provided the laws and elements necessary for our survival, and it follows that He should provide for our guidance (non-physical needs). Source: School of theology at Al-Azhar Mosque in Egypt.

@jantheslovakmuslim brother you said Islam is easier to practice in germany than in muslim countries. Can you please elaborate ? I beg to differ. My older sister is currently living there and she find it hard to explicitly express her muslim faith. There's a lot of restraint on "free speech" and you cannot show any criticism of Israel. Opposed to muslim countries where it is common and normal for people to openly declare their support for jihad and shariah law ect ect. Living among muslims and an islamic community will always be superior to any other environment. No matter how much the government is neglecting some parts of shariah.

_He [God] directs his orders from the heavens unto the earth; then it ascends to Him in a Day, the measure of which is a thousand years of those which you count_ - Quran 32.5 What is extraordinary about Quran 32.5? God gives order to angels. Given, as per Quran, that angels are made of light, was the angel in verse 32.5 travelling at the speed of light? “For most space objects, we use light-years to describe their distance. A light-year is the distance light travels in one Earth year. One light-year is about 6 trillion miles (9 trillion km). That is a 6 with 12 zeros behind it!" How do you explain Quran 32.5? God is in control he did not create and leave day to day management to somebody else. At the same time, these are prophetic statements about future scientific discoveries to prove Quran is not man-made.
