Operation "WATCH ON THE RHINE"....was the German code, for what would become, The Battle of The Bulge. It intentionally leads you to think it is a defensive operation on, or near the rhine river. This is great, thank you. The Kaiserreich context is less inflammatory than you-know-what, and we appreciate it. And yeah, if you can think back 149 years (and a little before, fresh in memory at that time), the boots marching and conquering across Europe were not German. It was another country just to the left, who had been thrashing the continent in one way or another for most of 1000 years. Every dog has his day, as they say.

Americans soldiers March through our streets with impunity while American flags fly in our skies. There is nothing wrong with wanting the best for your country, and that does not mean that you have hate for another country.

Ehre deinem Uropa! Ich werde etwas jünger sein als Sie, weshalb meine im 2. Weltkrieg gekämpft haben. Leider gibt es immer wieder verblödete "Antifanten", welche deutsche Soldaten gleich als Nazis oder ähnliches beschimpfen.

@@aldoushuxley5953 Naja, so ganz frei von Gräueltaten war die Wehrmacht nun auch nicht. Eine totale Absolution sollte man ihr definitiv nicht ausstellen.

@@TheDroelfzig Naja, ich würde eher sagen, dass man sich individuelle Soldaten, nicht das Kollektiv angucken sollte. Gibt es einzelne Soldaten, die auch nach damaligem Standart unmoralisch gehandelt haben? Offensichtlich ja, und auch nicht wenige. Aber die Wehrmacht als solches hat für ihr Land gekämpft, das ist erstmal etwas positives.

Deutschland spielte die Rolle des Rückgrats Westeuropas. Sie sah sehr schwere Erschütterungen nach der Vereinigung zu einem einzigen Land. Trotz alledem bleibt Deutschland ein starkes vereintes Land, das weiterhin politische und kulturelle Mode in Westeuropa prägt. Wir sehen diese Tatsache.
