The fact this is supposed to be satirical and they love it is a testament that the song was made too well. In the irony of trying to poke fun they essentially created an anthem for them. Which is essentially the same thing with the Libertarians or the "gun nuts" in the USA with that Far Cry song, Keep Your Rifle By Your Side. Just goes to show how music can be a very fine line of satire or just enjoyable lol.
@natronlaugeelendigger_jon374310 ай бұрын
You are aware that satirical songs often sound good? The thing you have to watch out for is the lyrics. ,,G H I Für demokrtaie", wers glaubt wird seelig.
@thewildwegonian9210 ай бұрын
@@natronlaugeelendigger_jon3743 Its all on interpretation, its the same thing of why there is such a division over what Starship Troopers as a franchise satires. Cause the book was written as a Libertarian manifesto. The Movies are written as a "satire" of fascism cause of some aesthetic design choices. But said director openly admitting not even getting past the 2nd chapter of the original book. So the disconnect/perspective is different to those who know the book and those who know just the movies. Same thing with a satire of a song or really any kind of media. If the satire is done right it doesn't matter what the original message is, the perspective on the subject matter will determine by the people consuming said satire whether its truly just a black and white message or if it works just as good with what they already know.
@natronlaugeelendigger_jon374310 ай бұрын

@@natronlaugeelendigger_jon3743 I mean yes to the outsider yeah its a satire, but to someone that believes in that stuff, that is just praise. "The Best Army", most considered the Nationale Volks Armee as one of the Cold War's most motivated fighting forces, the only reason said claim is disputed is the NVA never really saw any "mainstream combat". Like I said, its all about perspective, its a good satire, but its also a good anthem as well.

Objectivly GDR was the best attempt at Socialism, yet. From the ruins, having no natural recources and the underdevolped part of Germany, to being exploited in its beginning by the USSR and Sabotaged by the CIA, it mangeged to build a for decades stable state, where social equality was extremly high, Income of a modern German Bürgergeld empfänger (>1000€, in comparision the average west german had 2000€ to 3000€ but EVERY citizen in the GDR the around 1000€ enough to life), no homelessness, no severe poverty like the west part had, no unemployment, higher womens right standard, a powerful army etc. To its flaws: little light industrie (imagine having no egg peeler or thoothbrush), obvisioly the Wall and lack of personl freedom and a broken democracy and in its last stages ineffective economic planning. Most of these flaws where due to the besieged Status of Socialism which prevents proper democracy but for working Socialism you need political and economic democracy (having only one like Capitalist "Democracys" or Socialist States means that a group has all the power (class society)) Now imagine a modern GDR with all of Germany and Democracy that would be real Socialism we should thrive for as Socialist.
