German Premium Destroyer "T-61" Review - World of Warships Blitz

I am in love with the 3 German DDs in T6 (Gaede, Schonberg and T-61). They cover up the mistakes in my playstyle a lot because of the guns. I get along well with the trio and and use them to routinely to fulfill daily and weekly missions. By mistakes, I mean that I am not a great DD player. I have issues focusing on too many things/duties at one time but for some reason I get along well with these gunboat destroyers. Thanks for the review of this fun ship.

I think going for extra gun traverse is better especially if you are turning and dodging constantly, all the extra dmp you get, you are going to lose it while waiting for your guns to get on target and by contrast if you get your guns on target quicker you can open up on the enemy much earlier thus maximizing your dpm....

I miss Gaeda’s 5.9” guns, and still salty about Z23 loosing her 5.9” guns. The Narviks were known for 150’s. That was their real life gimmick but in game they flippantly disregard because the other line gets 150’s. Should have moved the Z23 to that line then and added a different one to the main line.

T-61 is a good DD imo. It may be slow, but when it catches a DD in a gunfight, they will lose, regardless if it is Dutch. I do use my Z23 captain on my T-61, and it's fun. What killed me about this ship was it's very slow speed. But it compensated by how fun it is.

The speed is a downside, but it's compensated for by the improved concealment imo. For such an old premium, I think she holds up pretty well.

@@FunandGameswithTerry Agreed. Yea the concealment is also pretty good on that DD. It's one of the best DD's I have. Tbf most German DD's are pretty good.

When Ernst Gaeda came out it had the 150mm guns. I know that with the 128mm and faster reload it has a higher dpm, but changing the guns always felt like a nerf to me. I loved Ernst Gaeda and was going to keep it. Since I got T-61 for free, I sold Gaeda.

That was my first impression as well with the 128s. By now, however, I actually prefer them.

Not an expert but maybe the reason why the bore is larger than the shells maybe has relation to engineering tolerance. for something around 12cm, 1mm tolerance is reasonable especially to make sure the shells launced with ease. But maybe 0.5mm tolerance would be better for accuracy, im not sure i need to look up at tolerance chart

Depends. Halsey is good if you have him and don’t have a cruiser, Halsey works great on DM and Worcester. Jesse Oldendorf also works great on Montana and Vermont… but better for Monty because George Dewey is specialized for Vermont. IMO Halsey works best on DM and Kinkaid on Worcester… but Kinkaid is also great on DM for support, halsey for aggression.
