1:05: "He tells us how big it is. But he doesn't tell us how many football fields." Or how often the Saarland fits in. How can anyone take such a video seriously?! (disturbed and passive-aggressively enraged German noises)

6:20 Is that not Schaffhausen in Switzerland? The waterfalls there? Could be wrong. If you grew up in Baden-Wuerttemberg, you maybe are able to tell, from seeing it yourself. I've been there myself and remember pretty much what the video showed for a couple of seconds. People who make videos, however, don't make those mistakes, do they? They check and double check everything, right? Worked in Biberach an der Riss for a while, on a project for a big pharmaceutical company, and made trips from my hotel in the weekends, sometimes accompanied by colleagues, sometimes alone. Like in this case. The others preferred to go to the Oktoberfest in Muenchen, I liked Schaffhausen better and so I took the train there. (Was surprised Swiss customs officers on the train wanted to see my identity card.) "So how you feelin' today mates?" I asked in Dutch the next morning, cheerfully and with a smile on my face. Did not get a lot of smiles back :) 8:48 The Dutch write Duitsland actually, not Deutschland. So he got more than just one letter wrong. But the pronunciation is almost exactly the same. So close that even Rudi Carrell could get it right :)

"You don't go there for the weather." Even though Berlin is on the same latitude as Birmingham in the UK people from further south in the UK such as London or Plymouth would find Berlin to be very dry and hot during the summer though as cold as Newcastle or Edinburgh in the winter.

There's so many films and TV dramas that included either of the two world wars in the storylines that you would wonder if they were current affairs not history. 1917 was one film I saw this evening. There is also War Horse.

Was the third biggest economy in the world though China & India might have beaten it because of their huge populations & industrialisation. China & India still not in the G7 but are in the G20.

germany was NOT the aggressor in both world wars. It was in ww2. ww1 began as austrian civil war within their own borders, then russia illegally attacked austria to aid the revolution faction, and THEN germany followed its alliance with austria and attacked russia in turn, then the french attacked germany as they saw an opening and...you get the idea. But i need to stress that germany was NOT the aggressor in ww1 that is just wrong from every possible angle.

If you are from the US? Million % yes. In Germany you could afford great education and good health without going bankrupt compared to the USA.

Germany is slightly more intense, focused with a higher sense of urgency, that is cause by German languages which contain evolutionary alarm sounds in it. The language has less intense alarm language than the Chinese and will be outcompeted by the Far East societies. That is all, nothing more to it. To understand this difference, see for instance, kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4OYnn59qJqnjZo

neither. austria is austrian, germany is german. While there is a lot of mix up the two cultures are distinct in many ways

@@BorchikYes It would be like comparing Ireland with the UK. Ireland did belong to the UK at one time but broke free although not in it's entirety leading to a split Ireland with the north eastern part still belonging to the UK. I hope one day Northern Ireland will leave the Union and reunite with the rest of Ireland.
