The difference between SBB and DB is that the first is reliable and reaches nearly everywhere. What is a 50 kph faster train worth if it never arrives? As a German expat traveling between Zürich and NRW frequently I tried the rail connection twice and it was a total disaster on the German side every time. Now I fly instead. The state of german rail and Germany in general is embarrassing.

Most of the energy that is produced IN Switzerland comes from renewable sources but Switzerland buys a lot of nuclear energy from France.
