**update** Video contains things which you may or may not agree! This is about my experience, may not be yours. 1. UTH milk does taste diff to me, it would make no sense to you if you add milk just in your coffee. It is a huge diff for people who drink glass of milk morning and evening without really adding anything. If you think this is nonsense, then go make your own video 😂. 2. The idea of bread for an Indian is limited to toast. That's the thing you get when you ask for bread in India. I used to buy toast from supermarket shelf but later when I tried different varieties of real bread from the attached bakery, I realised it is more delicious option in almost the same price and at the same place. That's all I want to say. All my Indian viewers would agree. 3. Pfand system was totally new for me, I read the things I said online and also supermarket staff told me about it. 4. I did not find salted butter in treff and netto, the nearest and the only supermarkets I went to. I did find it in Kaufland and Ekeda later on. From the place I come, we have to hunt for non salted butter, here unsalted is a majority. I want to correct the thing I said about not finding it here. Thanks to all the people who even told me brands to look for. I found salted butter after I had help from you guys. This video is simply my personal experience and opinions, you might have others. I did get msgs saying "yes UTH tastes diff" "why don't you add about which type of potatoes to buy bz unlike India there are some types here". If you share similar cultural background then you might agree to the video, if anyway you don't, take your hate elsewhere. Or make your own video 😂 Ok bye!

Yes, you are right: H-Milch tastes really different to "normal" milk. I always have a crate of it at home nevertheless, because it's really convenient as a reserve , for coffee or for cooking. But if you want to drink REALLY fresh milk, then you should look out for a dairy farmer in your vicinity (if you are living in a more rural area). Some of these farmers sell the really fresh and untreated raw milk just as it comes from the cow. You'll have to bring your own bottles and fill them up at a vending machine. You might try the search term "Milchtankstelle" at google maps to find some of them. Of course there are the unevitable warning labels at these machines, that this milk is untreated and shouldn't ever be consumed without heating it first, but believe me: I drink this milk all the time, never heated it, and never had a problem with it. These vending machines are usually very well kept and clean, as it would be extremely bad for the farmers reputation otherwise (not to talk about the legal consequences of course - not to follow the food hygiene regulation can be really pricey.)

I prefer to buy my bread not from supermarkets; they are industrially pre-produced at a factory and will finally just be heated up at the bakery shop. I like to go to small bakeries which are family owned for generations and which still produce hand-crafted breads using natural sourdough.

Hey, Even I shop bread in the bakery...but i really do not not which are the small bakers, in my town they are pretty big and they own chains everywhere.. we have ambuster, deher, lands and segwat, which one are you talking about? It will be really helpful if you tell me some names.

@@ShweChan Some like the Bäckerei Bühler, Zasiusstr. 9 , Freiburg. The classical bakery with just one adjacent shop is becoming rare. A handful of shops will however still mean that it's from a classical bakery. Armbruster and Dreher are rather small regional chains and should be fine. Looks like they have so 1-2 dozens shops. Kiliansbäck (Würzburg region), so 80 shops, over 400 employees. Here the bakery is already a big factory building www.kiliansbaeck.de/images/kiliansbaeck/slider/Kiliansbaeck-Waldbuettelbrunn.jpg Kamps and K&U are really big chains. K&U - which originated from a Freiburg bakery - has now so 700 shops and nearly 5.000 employees. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/K_%26_U_B%C3%A4ckerei#/media/Datei:Gro%C3%9Fb%C3%A4ckerei_K&U_in_Neuenburg_2.jpg

There are few things you can add such as how to get the fruits and vegetables which needs to be weighed, also what are the things that you will get and you won't get in german markets such as I tried finding mustard oil but I hardly saw and when I checked online it was quite expensive then I found people here use olive oil or vegetable oil mostly. Also I had a tough time finding spices

Nice video, but should have mentioned that the bottle need to have the recycling/pfand sign, otherwise, you won't pay 0.25 cents and so you won't get any pfand back. Also a little correction, they do have salted butter for all supermarkets brands like Ja in Rewe, K-classic in Kaufland, Milbona in Lidl, Penny in Penny and so on.

Apart from sandwich/toast bread I wouldn't buy bread in a supermarket, proper bakeries have much better quality, most people in Germany buy it in actual bakeries, even if the supermarket is more convenient.

@@ShweChan So you have to use this type of milk right. It's more for cookin' and such things. Put it in a cake, make cream or pudding with it, take it for your coffee or tea. The Germans are not such big milk drinkers, like the Americans. If you wanna have for example cornflakes, of course you have it with fresh milk, from the fridge. For myself, I hate to drink H- milk. It dosen't taste... You see, I'm with you...

I hate to burst your bubble. Plastic bottles are not being cleaned and reused, only glass bottles. BUT the plastci bottles you return will be collected and repurposed into new plastic items, whereas if you just throw them in the trash they will get bined with all the other trash. Though I neither drink homogenized milk, nor fresh milk, I don' think they are so drastically different. Of course you get salted bitter in Gemany, but you are right in that it is not as common as other butter varieties.

It's better to buy glass bottles instead of plastic bottles. Plastic bottles are not gonna reused. They will be shredded and reused for other things but there are still way too many of them. Glass bottles are always better. Lookout for the signs "Einweg" and "Mehrweg". "Einweg" is trash while "Mehrweg" bottles will be cleaned and reused a lot of times.
@MrHodoAstartes
@MrHodoAstartes 3 жыл бұрын
You were not completely correct in your description of the Pfand system. It is true that "Mehrweg", or multi-use bottles do get cleaned out and reused. These are generally thicker plastic or glass. However most plastic bottles and all cans are "Einweg", single-use. These are not cleaned and reused but shredded immediately within the machine and collected to be recycled as a very concentrated raw material, which makes recycling far more efficient and less energy-intense. It also serves to prevent littering in two ways. For one, it raises the cost of throwing away bottles so you are incurring a monetary loss when you buy bottles you do not return. Secondly, this developed into a kind of income stream for the homeless and poor who will patrol the streets and trash cans for bottles and cans which they can then return for money. Very smart homeless individuals have started actively seeking out football fans at stadium entrances where they will set up their shopping carts as repositories for bottles and cans to make considerable money from the recycling. So in addition to the passive incentive to return, littering is actively prevented by the homeless and extremely poor. In order to save them the indignity of diving into trash cans it has now become etiquette in German cities to place bottles next to trash cans or even in added bottle holders so they can be picked up easily and cleanly. So, bizarrely, leaving your empty beer can next to a trash container is now a form of charity in German cities and left-wing activists like to put up stickers on trash containers to inform you that bottles should not be placed inside but next to them.

See "Devi Deutsche" und waschen ohne Waschmaschine. Generally, I think they just publish their impressions based on different perspectives and customs. Which teaches me how the world is different. What I think is always helpful for foreigners is to learn at least some of the language before coming over. And to expect to learn it completely if they intend to stay for a year or more. Tourists can get by with English but that takes one only so far. I would not expect to live in India without good English. And to read the labels on the supermarket items. Of course for some things have keywords which modify the large label. Like saying Capuccino and if you look closely there is always the tiny word "Typ" next to it. So people, who don't know, assume this is made from Capuccino, just with the water evaporated. But the word "Typ" (translates to: kind of) makes all the difference. It is tasting remotely (depends on your taste scale, Italians will shudder!) of coffee something. Regarding the "haltbare" milk: There is basically fresh, "frische" milk and conserved "haltbare" milk. Even the first does not always taste the same. It depends on the brand, fat ("Fett") content and other factors like place of origin. And this milk is also customarily heated for a very short time. Otherwise it had to be called "Rohmilch", raw milk. That is being done to get any (e.g. tuberculosis) bacteria and other stuff killed. It is illegal to sell milk without that treatment. You get Rohmilch only directly from the dairy farm or in specialty shops as "Vorzugsmilch". The "H-Milch" has a wide range of tastes. It (to me) starts from pretty acceptable (Milram from Lidl in Bonn) to avoidable (no immediate brand comes up my mind because I have stopped buying it). I do stock one liter of H-Milch (see above) just in case I run out of milk (be in the know of Sunday shopping rules!). So the labels range also from the obvious, Milch, to the hidden information, "Typ Käse", which is analogue cheese made from anything but milk. Always read the full label including the small print and make sure you understand. If in doubt ask somebody! Never assume. If you not the unbiased adventurous person who is out to experience a possible new environment.

I suggest you do some research before putting out such a video. The plastic bottles which you return to the machine are actually crushed right there. (1st amount of energy put into them) You can hear it. Otherwise it would take too much space transporting them to the recycling facility. (2nd amount of energy) There they are shreddered (3rd amount of energy). Then the material is washed and graded (4th amount of energy). Over time it degrades when run through the injection process and through environmental exposure (aging and contamination by customers). The shreddered chips are filled into an injection molding machine to make new bottles which is like using all new material. So the account of energy put into recycling stops here. And all the energy has its CO2-footprint. Of course this has to be balanced against making new material from basically crude oil.
