I was an avid collector of authentic Nazi memorabilia for more than 30 years. I had a vast collection. A mini museum I guess you could say. Including 4 Original Knights Cross's. I've sold it all off over the last few years except for a few small pieces. I still have original SS and NSDAP CuffLinks, and a few flags. Sad to say, I regret it immensely now. Don't sell your collections. because you will spend the money , and your collection will be gone too.

@Graublitz yep it peaked in 1998-2009 after that most young collectors were priced out and far and few.

@@allenschmitz9644 As a young collector it is true, pieces of german uniforms are unaffordable, luckily enough I live in Brittany, France, close to the Normandy border and can get my hand on good stuff (Found MG15 Double-drum mag in a barn with other stuff that I didn't take for some reason) but still if I don't find'em they're costy has hell, like one seller that I know well own(ed) a German M43 waffen SS cap with that High altitude flower on the side (can't remember the name), for sale at 600 euros. Got a german helmet for 220 bucks in a very good condition, worthing 400 at least. But clothing? Hell you won't find them on flea markets, gotta go to special events or internet (or through other means) and you gotta spend a month salary into a single piece. I honestly am waiting to have a full time job to get those stuffs and also that prices go down.

@@breizhrudie4757 I did american uniforms/im in U.S. the german ones were so not in this country, and lots of movie fake ones..yep 80 years on the moths got the better of most stuff..

@@allenschmitz9644 Well we can (and actually plan to with some buds) still dig up nice stuff in Normandy, especially in the Road of Death close to Falaise's Pocket, or we can search in old people's attics and shit to aquire what they kept during all those years. Frankly, stuffs are too high priced even if it is german stuff, like replicas at 300 bucks (wtf) and originals 700 (Reference to Militaria 39-45, french website with almost exclusively german militaria, prices are generally good till you get to uniforms where they are a bit over priced to me).

@@breizhrudie4757 wow, Falaise's pocket! That must be metal detectors heaven around there. is most of it private land? my dad had 2 german helmets 1935 model that my lil' bro. stold and sold back in the 80's and one of my other bro's stold his walther 7.65 pistol with the holster and german nazi markings back in 1968..so to me it's what the point of collecting nazi stuff if you have to hide it from every on and even your own family..lol'.

One of my most prized possessions is an ss smock in palmentarn, there's a little hole on the upper right sleeve that had been patched with teleminetico cloth on the fall side even using green and brown yarn in an attempt to make it not stick out too much. That's a level of detail you won't see on fakes.
@breizhrudie47575 жыл бұрын
Palmentarn? That's quite uncommon.
@bablothiccasso58844 жыл бұрын
Wish that was true, there are people who cut up Original SS Zeltbahns to make hats and smocks. Some people are able to hand screen smocks and do multiple runs to swap patterns for added authenticity.

@@bablothiccasso5884 sorry for the late reply. What I didn't mention in my original post is that it originally belonged to my grandpa, who was an officer in an artillery observation unit of the Totenkopf division. Also, there never were Zeltbahnen (proper German plural) printed in Palmentarn, Palmentarn was only used for personal camouflage of individual troops. They were even quite specific on which part of the pattern was used in specific parts of the garments (Palmentarn is the one where they were really German about it😂). Which made them more laborious and expensive to produce. And thats probably the reason why Palmentarn wasn't very widespread.

I watched this video like 5 yrs ago while I was already collecting WWII militaria. But this video peaked my interest in German tunics. I bought some good books and have since purchased a couple of tunics…a HBT M43 infantry and a beautiful NCO Gebirgsjager tunic. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!

Its always a risky business what comes to clothing, it can be faked on so many different levels and the copycats are getting better every year. The trade on German medals is a bit less risk-free than with the uniforms but of course very finely made forgeries are discovered in that field too.

My uncle by marriage, father was in the army during WW11. He (his father) never spoke of his experiences. Only cried if asked about it. After passing his children opened at the foot of his bed a trunk. It revealed many mementos of that war. He received an object he wanted to ask me if I knew what it was. I can find no info on it. He made me promise to tell no one of his ownership. It is part of a German uniform. A light blue armband with what looks like a white snowflake in the center. I told him it looked like a dress uniform because it was so pristine. I also told him I thought maybe a Luftwaffe dress uniform band. His father had 7 overseas patches. I told him all those stories he could had told. So sad. God took him home afew years back. Anu info may close a door ty

Firstly, the third uniform is with Azerbaijani 🇦🇿 patch. Don’t mess us with russians. We were a part of USSR, we were soviets, not russians! Azerbaijani Legion was fighting for freedom. They wanted to gain independence. That was the idea, we did not want to be a part of USSR, we wanted to become a normal democratic country. Interesting fact - 80% of USSR military vehicles and machines were running on Azerbaijani petrol, Azerbaijani oil. Second of all, you are a collectioner, and you are calling soviets russians. That is a mistake that people are doing a lot. Saying that russians were fighting the germans, it is not right to say like this. Soviets were fighting, and soviet consisted of Russians, azerbaijanis, Georgians and etc.

TERRIBLE video coverage. The camera angle is so bad on this video, it basically made the entire video & learning experience worthless, as you cant even see a thing he's talking about. Especially when he's describing the insignia... he just ends up standing in the way & blocking the view. Should've just taken the normal approach & just filmed from the front.
