Mucha suerte estimado ruso.

Not just the warsaw pact, its being found out that they were one of the most motivated and trained armies on the planet (can't blame them since they got permission by the soviets to stay pretty "german" tradition wise etc etc)

@@B.Krol.050 Not the Best, ( Soviets were ) but out of all the "clients" the Nationale Volksarmee and the Polish Ludowe Wojsko Polskie were considered the only "battle worthy" armies in the pact. But Id say the NVA is better than the LWP, and just shy of the Red Army.
@comrade_commissar379411 ай бұрын
@@kapauk_k2982By the 80’s, the Polish army was not politically reliable. Sure it was huge and had a lot of equipment compared to the others, but their loyalty was dubious at best. The NVA would be the most “battle worthy” of the Pact states, followed by Bulgaria, the Czechoslovaks, and Hungary, with Romania and Poland being more suited for garrison duties and second line work, because of the aforementioned political unreliability. You’re not wrong about the loyalty of the NVA though. By the late 80’s, one could make a pretty good argument that the DDR was more committed to the communist cause and the Warsaw Pact project than the actual Soviet Union.

35mm film is very powerful, and in fact, we only just recently surpassed the quality of film with super high resolution digital cameras in the 2000's. To put this into perspective, the first 4k camera was released in 2003! 35mm film has about the same quality as a 4k to 6k resolution camera. You can scan a nitrate film from the 1890's and it will almost look like it was shot today. However this highly depends on the material, quality, and preservation of the film, as well as the type of scanning technology and format used. 99% of old films were encoded into analog technology (VHS, Betacam, etc) and thus they looks terrible because most of these films have not been digitized and it costs a lot of money.

From a lot of odd framing choices -- especially tops of hats or heads being cut off -- I get the distinct feeling that this was originally filmed in a 4:3 aspect ratio and the top and bottom of the picture have been chopped away to make it "fit" zoomed in to a 16:9 widescreen. Come clean, Maximus ! At least you didn't stretch and distort the original, but why not just show us everything and either upload it as 4:3 or at worst use pillar boxes?
@MaximusandHistory11 ай бұрын
Because this was a raw scan and you could see the perforations of the film on the video. The original scan looked very washed out and desaturated.

What a silly comment. I worked together with Muslim colleagues. They were professionals in their trade, good guys and nice to party with. What is your problem? I certainly do not want to live again in a walled-in country. I have enough of it. Lock yourself in if you like and live happily somewhere in your dark basement. Problems with migration can be resolved with some good will but not with permanently bad-mouthing other people(s). Where it is leading to can be now seen at the Gaza and the Ukraine. Hatred, no matter from which side, is never the answer. And certainly not the solution. Peace! from Dresden / Germany
