Before I came to Germany, I recorded lots of groceries and the prices at a grocery store named Ralphs. Now I’m in the grocery store in Germany and I am comparing those two videos, America and Germany and try to find out in which country has the cheapest groceries prices.

I am mostly German born in Chicago. I am older now with more time so I (in the suburbs now) routinely go through the big garbage bins and pull out as many plastic bottles to put into the recycle container. I usually pull out about 3 regular garbage cans FULL of plastic bottles of every type every week. It makes me feel good to watch when the truck picks up all those recyclable plastics up. Even all those large laundry detergent bottles which I call high value. I also roam the condo complex grounds routinely to pick up garbage that many people just throw to the ground. Being neat, clean and organized must be a German thing. I'm just doing my part to make America Beautiful as much as possible.

well the prices in the USA are cheaper , in terms of economy I don't think any country in the world can match the USA expect maybe China or Saudi Arabia or Iran and stuff , maybe Germany or Australia but China and the USA have a strong economy , I would love to visit China , heard a lot of great stuff , I've heard the capital city is like a mega city with modern state of the art roads and metros and stuff but Germany has a very strong economy , prices are high but people have high wages

Groceries are in general, at least 20 percent less in Europe as opposed to U.S. There are some things less in the U.S., but on average considerably less in Europe. A loaf of wheat (factory) bread is $4.00 here in the U.S. I could get a freshly baked wheat bread of 600 grams from the grocery store in Europe for $1.75.

It looks like mom washed out all the empties , in Michigan with the 10cent deposit , it's not required to wash out the empties , grocery stores hate that law because of all the sticky syrup and beer and wasps and bugs that are part of the exchange process. But at 10 cents some people still just toss the empties out of their car or leave empties here and there along places they've sat and consumed the beverage in public. Glad you mom is feeling well enough to be out and about.

Hello there!👋 I use to live in Michigan and I so remember those days of depositing cans and bottles that was like an add to my savings account but you say it's still 10 cents! @@sonyacarlisle341 Back when it was instituted in the 70's 10Cents would be worth about 50cents today. So yep it would make sense to bump it if you didn't want as many empties laying about. And it probably makes sense to pull the return stations out of retailers so they don't have to deal with all the spit, viruses, and sticky stuff in a grocery store environment. (they wheel full bins of these crushed cans and bottles through the store in some locations very close to open food like veggies. Just build a few stations dedicated to this and let the distributors handle it not the retailers.

And your recyclables look CLEAN.!!! I wish people here in the States had the same Common Courtesy. But most Americans here don't think about it and they don't care.

I think there's so many more countries that are better because of certain ideas that they do differently. For animals, people, our earth and this recycling way is just awesome !!! Great video as always !!! Send love to your mom, great to see her with you. Oh ! I also love how the bathroom doors are there ! I hate it everywhere you go there's always big gaps on the bathroom doors, no privacy. Why is it like that ?!

I love your videos. When I visit various countries I always go to the grocery store. Africa has low prices. ALDI has low prices in Europe. SPAR is more upscale. Japan prices are the highest in the world but depends what you buy. Fruit can cost $5.00 for single apple in Japan. in London Tesco is very cheap, Sainesbury is more expensive. Waitrose is the most. When I was in Munich I noticed you have some pretty rough toilet rolls there in Germany. I can wash windows with that stuff. Costa Rica in suburbs groceries are higher than the US.

In Montreal Canada we also recycle all our bottles and can for 5, 10, or 20 cents, 40 cents for large glass beer bottles. We also have the coin exchange machines, but you pay a small percent. Im glad you and your mum are doing better! It really is crazy the price of food since the pandemic, I feel sorry for some people. But Hela ketchup WOOP WOOP!😀😁😎
