Hitler's great misjudgements and overestimation of his own capabilities regarding the situation on the Eastern Front at the end of 1942 cost hundreds of thousands of Germans, Austrians, Romanians, Ukrainians, as well as Hungarians, Italians, Slovaks and Croats their lives by February 1943. The victims on the Soviet side resulting from Hitler's war are even greater. The whole Fall Blau / Blue Case, the attack on Stalingrad and the Caucasus, became the greatest military disaster in world history. Massive military and logistical mistakes were made, such as widely overrun front lines, lack of equipment and motorization, lack of supplies.
» This video has been uploaded to accurately document history. No political agenda is propagandised or supported via this uploading. There is absolutely no intention of some racist Flamewar to be instigated.«

As an historian and a German: The first and second World War wiped two generations of the best man we had away. There was and still is a huge gap that were left behind. Germany is still suffering from these events, especialy on the intellectual side and it shows on so many levels. People tend to think Germany caught up at some point, but that was never the case. We lost millions of the best thinkers, craftsman, poets, musicans etc. But worst than the two wars is the selfhatred that Germans developed. There is no future for a folk when you base every decision on your past and your hate torwards yourself.

Transcript to this clip - only part of the entire speech: "In my eyes, we have already passed the most fateful test for our Volk in the year 1942. It was the winter of 1941-1942. I may say that Providence weighed on the German Volk and especially its Wehrmacht in this winter. Worse cannot and will not come. That we conquered this winter, that the German fronts stood up, and that we could again line up in the early spring, this proved, so I believe, that Providence was satisfied with the German Volk. It was a very difficult and a very hard test-all of us know this. Nevertheless, we did not only survive this difficult time, but we also calmly managed to order and rearrange the divisions for the attack, as well as the motorized and panzer units which were earmarked to begin the next offensive. And this offensive has also developed differently from what our enemies had envisioned. After all, it is not necessary that we proceed in accordance with their method, since these methods have proved so unsuccessful. I believe that, in looking back, we can be content with the past three years. The objective was always very sober; bold where it had to be bold, prudent where it could be prudent; unhurried where we had time, cautious where we believed that we had to be cautious under all circumstances. However, we were being daring where daring alone could help. For this year, we have drawn up a very simple program. First: under all circumstances, to hold what must be held. That means that we will let the others get underway as long as they want to get underway where we do not intend to advance. To hold firm and to wait and see who will be the first to tire. Second: It’s absolutely imperative to attack where an attack is necessary under all circumstances. The objective is clear: the destruction of the right arm of this international conspiracy of capitalism, plutocracy, and Bolshevism, which is the greatest danger that has ever hovered above our German Volk and against which we have been in battle for a year now. We have set ourselves several objectives here. I will briefly summarize in catchwords what has been accomplished in these few months in order to make you aware of it: The first objective was the securing of our superior position at the Black Sea and the final clearing of the Crimean Peninsula. Two battles served this purpose: that of Kerch and that of Sevastopol. Let me say that had our enemies had at least one success in these three years of war, then it would surely be impossible to speak with them at all, since they would no longer float here on earth, but in the clouds, bloated by conceit. After we had set things in order there, it appeared necessary to us to eliminate the bulge that had developed at Volkhov. It was cut off, and the enemy destroyed or captured. Then came the next task: preparing the breakthrough to the Don. In the meantime, the enemy chose a great offensive objective, namely, to break through to the banks of the Dnieper from Kharkov in order to bring about the collapse of our entire southern front. Perhaps you recall our enemies’ enthusiasm in following these operations. It ended in three battles and the complete destruction of more than seventy-five divisions of our Soviet enemy. Thereupon, we lined up for our own great offensive. The first goal was to take from the enemy the last great breadbasket; second, to pull out from under him the last bit of coal that can be carbonized; third, to move up to his oil fields, either to take them or at least to shut him out of there; fourth, the attack was to be continued in order to cut off his last great arterial road, the Volga. The objective was an area between the bend of the Don and the Volga, and the town of Stalingrad-not because the town bears Stalin’s name, which is unimportant-but exclusively because it is a strategically important area, and we were aware that the elimination of the Dnieper, the Don, and the Volga as traffic routes would be as terrible or worse for the Soviet Union, as it would be for Germany if we lost the Rhine, the Elbe, the Oder, or the Danube. On the mighty Volga stream alone, thirty million tons of goods are transported in six months. That is just as much as in one year on the Rhine. It [the Volga] has now been cut off for some time. Now it is the taking of Stalingrad above all that will be brought to a conclusion-whereby this lock will gain in depth and strength. And you can rest assured that no human being can remove us from this place! As to our further intentions, you will understand that I will not speak about them, as it is a question of objectives which are being pursued at this time. In my stead, Mr. Churchill speaks about them. But the time will come when the German nation will obtain clarity on these further goals. I can tell you, however, that the next task that we will set for ourselves will naturally be the organization of this gigantic area which we are now occupying. We were not as interested in marching so many thousands of kilometers as we were in placing this gigantic area in the service of feeding our Volk, securing our raw materials, and, in a wider sense, sustaining all of Europe. To this end, traffic had to be put in order."

Interesting because this speech was given in the early stages of Stalingrad, when the Germans were confident of victory. But on November 19 the Russian counterattack began on the flanks of the German army, largely made up of Rumanian troops. The end result was the encirclement of the army, and early the next year, defeat and surrender.

He despised or destroyed several of those ethics. Neo-Dawinism, through a heady mix of nationalism and socialism, was his ruling ethic. Out went much of the cardinal virtues; the Church was held in contempt and suffered increased persecution. A false sense of providence as close to deism as he would casually admit. Out went God and in came the self worship of the German ideal. Though man was just an animal with some animals more superior than others. Result: the destruction of tens of millions and Germany itself.

@@vincentmcnabb939 From my research it, He was not an atheist or an anti Christian. He ended alot of his political speeches mentioning God and asking for his aid. He hated atheism and saw it as the offspring of bolshevism. He was against abortion and enacted laws preventing it. He was close to nature and introduced animal protection laws. He spoke of providence many times He rebuilt churches that were destroyed by the soviets in Ukraine and other Eastern European countries when they occupied it from 1941, allowing freedom of religion again. Many higher ups in the party, like Goebbels, read the bible and spoke of his admiration of Jesus and said he considered becoming a priest. The symbol of the party itself is religious; (Which I cannot state on youtube) it depicts the sun, which represents God. That's why Christians celebrate their holy day as "Sunday" the day of the sun and the day of God. Saturn is the 6th (Mark of the beast) planet from the sun. Saturn, the Roman God, ate his own son. Saturn is also spelt and sounds similar to "Satan" because that's who it represents. And who is is that celebrates their holy day on Saturday? (The day of saturn) Sabbatai means Saturn in Hebrew, (Sabbath).

He was fighting for generations in the far future, not for that generation in particular, in his mindset that carnage was cruel but necessary, long-term peace would not keep Europe an independent continent, sparing that generation would sacrifice future ones to dependence on foreign trade. . First, the objective was to destroy Bolshevism, an evil that knew no limits to its implementation and in which it was incapable of coexisting peacefully with other competing ideologies. Second, it was to achieve an autarky for Europe, especially for the Axis allies, because France and England would continue to be colonial powers in his mentality, not to be dependent on foreign trade with foreign powers, that is, it was to guarantee freedom for their peoples to long term, wars and conquests of territory has always been at the core of human beings. There is a speech by him in January 1941 in which he informed the Wehrmacht officers that the conquest of the USSR was aimed at resources but it was not necessary to annex them to the Reich, that is, he would give the Soviets a certain political and cultural autonomy but they would have colonists there as well the British did in India. Whether it was a noble or tyrannical goal is up for debate, I don't see anyone portraying the British as tyrannical for their colonial conquests. I believe it was a noble goal, as no one risks their neck for material goods when they are over 50 years old.

The red army in 1941 suffered losses never before seen in all of human history. In 1942 Stalin overconfident from his winter counteroffensive ordered offensive operations in the Ukraine where they suffered over 200k casualties, paving the way for Wehrmacht offensives into the caucuses which culminated in the battle of Stalingrad. There were a lot of reasons to be full of confidence and bravado on such historical achievements in such a remarkable short period of time.

@@gothelvis3541 The Sovietunion had a much higher population than Germany. It only makes sense for the Sovietunion to have a larger amount of casualties. The Sovietunion was also far from ready for war, a not properly finished Stalin-Line, poorly trained army, terribly organized because of Stalins purge and many logistic problems making it at the beginning of the war even easier for the germans. However the tides turned as soon as the USSR gathered their reserves from far eastern regions, improved their logistic and army organization problems and took use of the terribly oil supply problem germany was already dealing with before operation barbarossa was planned

Stalin wasn't a a big fool, he read Mein Kampf through and through, he knew what hitlers ideology stood for. However that being said, The soviet union was very unprepared for a war before the start of barbarossa, 8 years after 1933. Their military needed to advance a lot during that time which the soviets were relatively far from in ww2.

@@hnys7976 Stalin knew, every Bolshevik knew that Nazi Germany was out to destroy the USSR and make the Slavs and others in the country into servants of the master race, the 'Herren Volk" and they knew they needed time to industrialise enough to produce those tanks which entered Berlin in May, 1945.
