German high school Basics. You can solve in 3-5 lines.

8^(x-1) = 20 log(8^(x-1)) = log(20) (x-1) * log(8) = log(20) x - 1 = log(20) / log(8) x = 1 + (log(20) / log(8)) log(20) ≈ 1.301 log(8) ≈ 0.903 x ≈ 1 + (1.301 / 0.903) x ≈ 1 + 1.443 x ≈ 2.443 So, the value of x is approximately 2.443.
