It really depends on your cultural and linguistic backgrounds, as well as how well you understand the local mentality when it comes to emigrating to Japan. Some non-Japanese who idolise Japan end up experiencing a rude awakening upon arrival because of such vast cultural differences, but others who appreciate or personally like the stoic societal norms of Japan, tend to fit in a lot easier. I am not sure what it’s like living in Germany, but I can assume that as a Western state, Westerners (or English speakers) will most likely fit in better in Germany in contrast to Japan. Japan being an Island nation which had an isolationist policy for centuries, has a distinct language with its own linguistic family (Japonic), as well as the population being extremely homogeneous (rather mono ethnic) with 98.5% being ethnically Japanese. To expect to “fit in” or “naturalise” after emigrating there would not be so simple, and would only be natural to assume that emigrating to Germany would probably be easier.
@luis153172 жыл бұрын
Adding to that is that Germany is the second greatest immigrant destination and therefore cultural variable country in the world after the USA. Almost everyone here speaks English or atleast understands it which makes it easy for foreigners to, let's say survive 😅 not so sure about that in Japan.

Economically, Germany has many great neighbors and has an advantage. However, Japan, which has a wide territorial waters, has an advantage in military affairs. The sea is excellent at transporting goods in addition to defense. Because ships can carry more supplies with less energy than trucks.

I don't know if Germany is on good terms with its neighbors, but it is a great advantage that there are many developed countries in neighboring countries and the EU can become one.Japan wants to compete with Southeast Asia and India by getting along well with Korea, which has achieved remarkable economic development.(Of course, with the United States.)I want to get along with China, but I can't get along with them in terms of human rights violations and communism that doesn't follow rules.

I'd definitely visit Japan as it's a safer place for travel and it's more exotic than Germany. Food quality also is a big win. You have not mentioned earthquakes that can be scary although so far I have not experienced anything dangerous while traveling in Japan.
@publicminx9 ай бұрын
food quality is not a clear win. it starts already with by far better tap water in Germany, much more diversity (lets face it, Germany is full of people from all over the world while Japan has similar to the US a lot of pseudo-variation - even if some food (i am a huge Sushi fan) is great and it imports some international food. But lets face it good bread//Brezel, Beer, really good meat food (actually most countries suck here, also countries like Italy), much more sausage/wurst diversity, much more streetfood diversity (from Bratwurst, Currywurst of all kind to Doener of all kind (I prefer Durum btw. more than the ordinary), Gyros and everything from Italy to Japan, China to Indonesia, India, most of Europe and so on. Japan has BY FAR less variety! BY FAR! and btw,. in more regional areas you have also much more diversity in Germany (and btw, also French has less. I could teach all time long people about having stupid stereotypes - you are not the only one). Btw, more for people with more knowledge: also historically interesting is if one compares Germany/Europe with Japan in the medieval time and a bit later. Europe evolved slowly more and more faster but it is interesting how both regions had depending on their circumstances evolved nevertheless. Armors but also the different 'castle' buildings style. Due to the earth quake (thats why it came into my mind) Japan had already back then created buildings with earth-quake protection! Very clever technical solutions in detail! Japan also did much later great by copying Prussia (because it was the most efficient and modern structure at that time and fit very much to the Japanese society which shared some fundamental aspects which is why some things were and are really quite similar. But some are not. While both cultures value punctuality, development and so on, Japan remained to have a very strict society with many codes (not just at work, but also from dating/marriage, dealing with families and others etc. - most international people deal in reality just with some westernized/internationals of the same bubble). Germany on the other hand values rather much more individualismm, is more open to queer and all kind of atypical stuff ...

This truly helped me a lot... Thank you. To be honest... One of my biggest worries regarding Japan.. That "It's not true... 💘 Right? 💔" Is the as you put it.... "Work till you die culture" 💔💔💔 Exactly that. As someone in the USA who already struggles with wether am worth a d@*n, I hate to be blunt here but I wouldn't be able to survive that level of depression being a resident there....No. Nor could my heart take watching others through their own ordeals/endeavors with it all. And the way you put it....Sadly it needed to be worded that way... My heart goes out to Japan on that one 💘 As for Germany....Hmm...I don't know but between tge two....Definitely. Could you please do some comparisons to Norway? To both places here and maybe even Ireland... Sweden.... Trying to think if anywhere else. I think just those. Thank you. Wishing you and anyone else reading this, a wonderful and safe year.

The biggeat Problem with Countrys in the west is in general Politics, loosing friends over different political opinions is not that uncommon. If you wanna be a freelancer/entrepreneur germany would also be the better choice, because the japanese work culture, the pressure from the parents or just the general public opinion makes ir hard for people to actually go for the risk. But I am choosing Japan nonetheless.

I have been to both countries many many many times. I prefer Japan to Germany. The behaviors of the German team or their fans and those of the Japanese team or their fans in the 2022 World Cup Final can give us some hint of the huge differences in their cultures.
@jenson1896 Жыл бұрын
You are judging an entire country based on some idiots?
@nerdybuddy7415 Жыл бұрын
@@jenson1896 my impression is not based simply on what the German footballers did! My impression is based on the leftist policy that is widely supported by most Westerners in basically ALL Western countries! Germany is especially affected due to its involvement in the two World Wars. Germans are brainwashed to believe a so-called "universal" value, which is primarily American value in disguise in reality. ALL Western countries are Americanized to a greater or lesser extent. They all embrace a leftist policy to various degrees. Local cultures cannot be retained. And in order to unite a nation with so many different groups of people and cultures, they need to brainwash their people to believe that everyone is equal or even identical, which is far from reality. So men become women and women become men. And there's only one race. It's a Marxist Utopia, where everyone is equal, but some people are always more equal than other people. And they believe it's a paradise that they should be proud of! Political correctness has gone rampant in ALL Western countries. Japan is the only developed country where people have not yet been brainwashed. It's an entirely different world. But that also results in a rapidly aging population. Everything comes with a price. If Japan was a Marxist Utopia like other Western countries, the Japanese would have to see the same high crime rate, terrorism, ... in their country. That means they would have to commit cultural suicide.
