Germany’s,manufacturing and industrial base has dramatically declined;Thanks to the loss of inexpensive Russian energy supplies. Germany is now in a recession and the U.S. swooped in to entice German manufacturers to move to America and enjoy cheap energy supplies and tax breaks. The last thing you want is more military spending as it does not produce products for consumers but increases wages and taxes which increases inflation. Germany needs to get back to peace and prosperity with Russia before the American strategy of breaking Russia makes European life more miserable.

I was in 1995 and under no circumstances do I want this for today's young people.
