The accused country will defend itself and the judges will make their decisions. There is no moral obligation for a third country to join in that defence. If there was, Britain and America would be front and centre. It is fine for Germany to have a view on the case but joining in its defence as a third party betrays a deep political bias. Also, that German minister’s argument in defence of Israel was to accuse Hamas of the same thing. Firstly, this is not a defence. It is a counter accusation of the same crime. If he believes it so then he’d need to bring his own case. Secondly, he is conflating Hamas and the Palestinian people - which, if anything proves the genocide case. One can only conclude that German governments are (uniquely in history) singularly devoid of a moral compass. Perhaps it’s a form of hubris.

If this is "genocide", then any other military conflict should be labelled as such! If you study the statistic for the civilian vs military death in urban warfare, the numbers in Palestine are on the low end, so Israel is doing a terrible job with the genocide... And, this of course assumes that the numbers from the Hamas-run Ministry of Health and Rocket Storage are an accurate representation, because we know based on Hamas and IDF videos that Hamas uses fighters in civilian clothes, so when they are killed in battle, do you think Hamas counts them as military, or civilian?

The numbers are not on the low end, that's an outright lie. 80% of casualties being collateral damage is unprecedented and unacceptable. They're not, in fact, collateral at all, but the main target of the campaign. The numbers don't lie, as is the systematic destruction of civilian infrastructure in Gaza. Textbook genocide.
