I totally understand where you boys are coming from. Myself, a NATIVE from the Luiseno Band of Indians from the So. Cal. people. I spent 18 yrs. of my life serving the people on my reservation and other reservations other than mine after left Cali, it was a time of my life, I wouldn't trade it for anything. My last active season was back in 2006, been awhile. My father was a firefighter before me, he made it to Asst. Battalion Chief for our reservation fire department before his untimely death in 1993. My first couple of years I spent as a volunteer Firefighter with our reservation fire department. In my junior year in high school - Sherman Indian High School, a recruter came to Sherman looking for fresh new bodies to fight fires for the next coming season, I immediately signed up and the rest was history for me. In my time of service until 2006, I came across you guys a time or two in different places, not ever meeting your crew or talking to you directly, but I remembering seeing you on the IAP for division operations. Keep up the good work you're doing, be proud of yourself's for the work your doing; most importantly, be proud for your people.

+noxiumm07 Hi noxiumm07, Thanks for posting your life as a wildland firefighter for yourself and for your father's legacy, that's a nice piece of history to hear from a brother from another tribe and from another department in wildland firefighting. We are glad you were proudly serving your community and other communitie's near or far not only as a firefighter but as a public service to the people in need of help, The job we do for the public will always be remembered. I know you miss the time's battling wildfire's, it's an adrenaline rush you would never forget. I'm not sure what fire's we crossed in your time as a wildland firefighter but it's always nice to meet new people on the fireline or off duty, Sometime in the near future we mite get the chance to pass through So Cal and get the chance to meet you, The fire community is a big community but when we see old friend's it always seem's like a small world since we see so much of our friend's doing the job we love. The guys on the crew here at GIHC never been prouder to be apart of San Carlos Apache Tribe and that being said the non-tribal personnel working on the GIHC program were proud to be working for the San Carlos Apache Tribe, We are glad we had the chance to talk with you, thank you for serving in the wildland firefighting community. Thank you for viewing our video and thanks for posting your accomplishment's and your father's legacy takecare friend, Thanks for doing the job you love and for being proud for your people. M.Dia

I want this so bad. This is my dream. I’ve never been more passionate about something. I love fire, I love nature, I love hard work, I love doing good. I recently got a job in the tree business (been in and out of it since 16) I may not be doing this soon but boy will I get there. I’ve never been more certain about what I wanna do as a career until now. Much love from Gilbert, AZ. I can’t wait to help out there.

hey Guys just a little Question. is there a posibility that i can be a wildland Firefighter? There s just one Problem... I m from Switzerland. P.S. sorry for the bad english
@dragonfiredia9 жыл бұрын
Hi Oliver, Thanks for the question, their is no bad English in your sentence bud so don't worry your solid. That's a really good question and I'm sorry to say I can't answer the question, it's not that I don't want to answer it but it's just the fact that I don't know the answer or don't know what could stop you from joining any wildland fire crews, You should start off with the application process and go from there, you mite hit some bumps in the road or mite come to a wall in the process but it's a start. We are glad you want to come help out here and fight wildfires, i don't see what could stop you from doing this job, keep moving forward bud don't let anybody tell you it's impossible or you can't do it I'm sure one day you will be where you want to be in the fire world, I'm sorry I couldn't give you a answer but I do have a feeling that you will be out here soon and We will be waiting for you on the fireline, Take care bud see you soon and thanks for viewing our video. M.Dia
