This is an awesome video great music! I want to become a wildland firefighter when I’m older, my goals are hotshot and smokejumper. If you have any tips or advice for that you be amazing. I should mention I am 13 almost 14. Once again this is an awesome video!

why are they starting fires?
@thehikerchick30566 жыл бұрын
corrupted - It’s called a backburn. Basically it removes fuel, ie brush and trees, from the fire if they are at the scene of a brush fire. It is also done in what they call controlled burns to prevent dry brush from accumulating and causing massive fires. They are trying to do what nature does on it’s own but in a more controlled in theory manner. Hope that helps.

And not a single one wearing a respirator.
@equinsuocha26284 жыл бұрын
what kind of respirator do you think they should wear?
@Sucknutz_4 жыл бұрын
yeah lets just take 40 lb airpacks up moutains with us, makes sense. Wildland firefighters don't use respirators, MAYBE on defensive urban interface. If you want respirators go structural lol

Speaking as an ex-helattack. when the hotshots walked into fire camp we all opened the way for them - both in awe and respect. The hotshots are definitely a breed apart.

Why make the fire first i dont understand that grtz from The Netherlands
@HBTwoodworking6 жыл бұрын
Jacob de Vries It’s a backburn or backfire. They are removing fuel in a controlled burn environment to prevent a future fire or removing fuel to hopefully stop the progress of a main fire. FYI - I am not a firefighter. One of those guys might provide more insights.
