GREAT!!! You can use Mother's, Flitz, Blue Magic, White Diamond, or other polishes. I just did the forged aluminum rims on my 2006 2500 Silverado HD. I applied a ceramic coating after I finished with the polishing of the aluminum. No need to respray clear coat paint with the ceramic coating, but it could be an option if you want to back to original appearance. If your vehicle is used in a high road salt area (particularly the brine spray), it will quickly ruin the clear coat on your wheels. Eats right through the paint and turns aluminum white. You can also apply the polish with 0000 steel wool for those tough areas.

tried this and the kwik stripper keeps getting stuck on the wheel, tried a putty knife and even a pressure washer. any suggestions on how to get the rest of it to come off. maybe a heavier coating of different stripper?

Luckily, the clear coat on my same 2008 wheels is still intact. Hoping some polishing compound gives me similar results. But I know what I'll be doing should it ever start to peel

You can polish all you want.untill you remove the clear,,you can't polish them

They were polished machined aluminum with clear coat. The clear coat was scratched and faded.

Aluminum won’t rust but when you take the clear off you have to keep polishing or it will tarnish
