Nothing has meaning until we choose to give it meaning. Oh Gerrit, this video made me weep and long to walk along the path again. The singing at the end, his voice brought tears to my eyes. So beautiful. Was this an albergue in Acebo you stayed in? You are staying in different albergues this time and I am greatly enjoying the off stages. It would be wonderful, at some point when you are done, to give us your impressions of your favorite ones. Thank you for this beautiful and emotion-provoking video. My heart is full...gracias :).

@@nikonakio Your voice evoked so much emotion for the camino, spanish countryside and its people. You have a gift. I would love to hear more, where could I access that. Gracias y buena noche.

Danielle, thank you so much… i’m quite glad that of the few people who see these videos, I get reactions like yours. That makes it all worthwhile. Yes this was the Parroquial Donativo in El Acebo. Great hosts… - and i’m all about off-stages now 😜 find another eeeexcellent one called Casa Cantadora - you’ll see it in tomorrow’s episode (well today’s, but it’ll be done by tomorrow). good idea on one with albergue recommendations… check out @caminohacksandtips and his newsletter, many good ones in there as well

I stayed in the same Albergue de peregrinos parroquial Santiago Apóstol, in El Acebo. I have good memories there. You can see a beautiful sunset at another cross nearby. I love the music in this video. 👍

“Human capability to project ideas or meaning unto things is endless.” I love this! The first year my husband passed away, there was a beautiful red cardinal that perched on my feeder for a good while. I immediately thought it was my hubby visiting me. From then on (12 years this year) there has always been one out there in the spring through summer. I know it’s him 😊. Gerrit, you have a gift! You should compile all these musings and meditations into a book (plus pictures and artwork) and I will be the first in line to buy it! I’m old school. Love the feel of flipping the pages. Great video by the way… music & all ❤

Looks like you found a new world out there since you left Leon … big skies at first, forestry paths uphill, and interesting albergues … and musicians every day! A completely different Camino experience. All those little rocks from all over the world carrying the meaning we give them. Sometimes I wonder what happens to them when the season is over. With the steady number of pilgrims the pile ought to be so much bigger by now, but it is not. Tomas of Manjarin would probably know, but as he is getting older now, he seems not to be in his mountain home anymore so often. Anyway, it’s the symbolism in adding another meaningful Little Rock 🪨 😊

yes… a friend said, in Léon, “your Camino is just starting”, and that was kind of on point… and yes the rocks - not sure if want to know….

Last year I inscribed the stone I left at Cruz de Ferro with one word; “guilt”. It was not the act of leaving the stone that was healing but thinking about what my intention was. Buen Camino.

Wer weiss. Buen Camino 😊
