Myself and my twin brother, DTV fans all our life, first saw Gerry in the VIVA GT, Aprill 1971 at Silverstone, then followed almost all his rcaes, Gerry Marshall and Bill Blydenstein what a combination, thanks to them we had great cars like the Vauxhall Firenza, Chevette HS/HSR and a host of sporting Vauxhalls like the amazing VXR's.

That little Skoda was giving Gerry a run for his money, it was V8 powered and I saw it race at pembrey in the early 2000s and it was a flyer.

This is epic ......Real car racing were men drove cars to the limit, smoked a cig during races and then had a few jars afterwards. In my opinion 70/80s were the glorydays for car racing/motorcycle racing ....now its all about looking good on tv ,not swearing, advertising nonsense, look at the BTCC is is $h17 and it is boring, just like F1 and WRC. Real bread & butter racing that ignites your soul ...and just love those haircuts

soundtrack is epic.. anyone know who it is?

Club saloon racing probably reached its pinnacle in this era. However, professionally developed cars like the DTV Baby Bertha were very expensive to build and run. Ultimately cars like this led to something of a decline in club saloon car racing as the average club racer simply could not be competitive against such cars.

I know - saw him and you at it at Ingliston in the 70s. Also saw your final race in the Firenza at Ingliston which I think you won, the same race when Doug Niven's beetle lost its nose in the wet, and the same meeting when iain McLaren's F1 went airborne!

loved the video hate the "crap" noise that some people call "music"??? after all dont we go to race meetings to "enjoy" the sounds the car makes?? or is it because the english call any kind of exhaust note a "noise" and must be over powered by crapp music??? having said that "top gear" still does it, a ferrari in a tunnel? glorious sounds!!! editor! no no no cant have that put in something more pc!
