For anyone who doesn’t know, judkins makes a glue which is a true glue you can use, but it also doubles as the same as this glossy accents! I believe it’s called diamond glaze, but don’t hate me if I’m wrong, it was long ago I got mine! She’s had that for literally decades, and I still use a big bottle from 2003-04 which is just fine! The advantage is also that there are several sizes of this so if you use it a lot I would guess the price point is pretty good compared. It used to have a purple/blue label. Great stuff! It also dries with dimension as well as making cardstock so shiny it looks like plastic great for windows of houses or cars, btw.

These paper beads are so cool. I love the idea of using an embossing folder. I used to make beads with thin paper cut into long skinny triangles. After rolling them they would be thicker in the center and smaller on each side, if this made any sense. They would make longer skinny beads tapered on the ends. I love the key chains you made. They would look great on backpacks or on the spines of mini albums.

"Run out of embossing powder?" What a concept! It will never happen to me, I'm afraid; sometimes I think I'm more a hoarder of EP than a user. These beads would be nice as a tassel on one of those pins people decorate for closing up their glue bottles (you know, the pins that otherwise get lost on your desk and require a magnet to find, and meanwhile the glue's drying out because you haven't got the pin...).

Very cool, I make spacer beads by rolling up paper as you do. But then I emboss ‘plumber’s’ tape. This tape is real aluminium that has a sticky sheet on the back. Vert easy to use. The tape comes in a wide roll but can easily be cut to any size you want. I use that to cover the paper bead.

Wonderful idea. As you were crafting, I was thinking of copper colored paint in addition to the black. Also, the circle and other designs could make earrings to go along with beaded necklaces or bracelets. When we were in high school, a gazillion years ago 🤪, way before glossy accent was created, we used clear nail polish to cover beads we made from strips of magazine pages. I'm loving the embossed metallic look. Fun times headed this way. Messy fingers included.

I love the detail that the embossing folders added to your beads…so cool! I’ve never made paper beads before, but it looks like I’m outnumbered, LOL! I watched one of your other paper bead making videos earlier today, and it really has inspired me to try making some. I bought a package of Christmas tree garland made out of red wooden beads several years ago but have not yet used it because it was too short, and I wanted something more unique. My intention was to take it apart and add other elements to it for more interest. I have some old tree limbs that I think I’ll cut into thick slices to make beads, plus now I’m thinking some paper beads out of music paper and book text sound like fun elements too. After watching this video, I know I must do some of your embossed metal ones too! I think I’ll try some gelli plate papers too, and maybe some of Almut’s napkin beads, some little pine cones, some jingle bells, and, and…. My mind is absolutely whirling with ideas right now! Thanks so much for the inspiration!

Lay the embossed one on top of plain paper and cut into strips. I am time poor, so I'm not sure if this is quicker, but I will give it a go. Different color paints could look good too. Hi Gerry, I love your videos and your sense of humor! Thank you for sharing your ideas and talents. I make regular paper beads and glaze them but I notice you use distress spray on these vintage beads - is there a particular reason to use this instead of a glaze? My silver and gold paper just arrived as well as my embossing folders so I am ready to get started but I am wondering if I can use glaze instead of distress spray on these beads? Would love to know your thoughts.

Thanks, you're welcome💕 I can't recall I using distress spray, I know I don't use it instead of glaze as it reacts to water. If you have a time stamp in the video, I can check it for you... But glaze sounds like a good idea, make sure to try that!
