Found some gold on this claim this summer with my 705 in prospector mode, got this claim from Ken and have enjoyed it very much. Love watching your channel keep it coming.

Nice job! Glad you used the GMT in manual mode because I had questions about it. As one who's new to metal detecting, I find this hands-on, real world video to be a valuable instructional tool to supplement the 6-part youtube video provided by White's Electronics. Can't wait to get out and try my new toy!

I have used VLF units in hot ground and found gold. The PI units run much smoother in hot ground and ignore more hot rocks and cold stones than the VLF's. I have not detected your area, but know most detectors can be used in most areas, as long as you realize your losses and gains of that detector for certain areas.

Glad we could help you learn the GMT some. I find gold with them all, so it is a matter of getting the detector you can afford and then find the right dealer who offers Field Training and Knowledge. Since I own every gold detector on the market from the top 5 brands, I know the Pros/Cons of each pretty well.

Does the 4"x6" dd shooter coil work with the gmt?

Been there and done that. Perth/Kalgoorlie area back in 2005 I was digging gold with both VLF and PI machines.

Is this still an up to date gold detector or what is a better recommendation for 2019 ?

I am picking up this very model (used once and put away after the owner came under health issues) at a heavily reduced price. The tones and set up are a bit intimidating but you helped calm the fears a bit. I guess I will have to spend time with the machine. Naturally I cannot afford a Minelab 5000 or I could get one of those..the only other one I want that I see you in other videos on is the Garrett AT Gold. The tones are less scary to me but I can't pass this price up.

Gerry, Thanks again for the reply! This video yields more and more information the more I watch it and after the purchase. I guess my main question is what ground would you try to avoid with this particular unit and switch to say a PI machine? I know that may not be an easy one. But for my situation I will be using this in the hills that match Goler/Benson/Randsburg/Springer since that is my backyard and can hunt almost every day after work.

VLF gold machines work great on tiny nuggets, some specimens and meteorites....better than the Minelab GPX-5000. BUT....The Minelab GPX-5000 goes much deeper, runs smoother and is superior in heavy mineralized soils. Hope this helps.

Yes, I try and do some videos of finds and some for Tips/Tricks to help others. My goal is to earn folks business of getting the chance to sell them a detector. I realize you might already have one, but hope you give me the opportunity to earn your business the next time. Thanks for commenting.

So much to learn. All I can handle is the BH Tracker 4 right now. If there is a target it will find it but I doubt it could find a nugget, right?
@GerrysDetectors11 жыл бұрын
If it is big enough, the BH will hear it. Good Luck my friend.

At least you know there was gold there before you purchased it. Now you have found gold on the claim, so everything is right. Thanks for the positive comments and when you need a detector, let us know.

Do you think a xterra 705 with the gold coil or even the 6 inch gold coil can find nuggets as small as the GMT? I have both but I cant tell a difference in ability and wondered if you have been able to tell?

I wo nder if GMT would be any good for finding gold rings on beach IN WET SALT SAND?

It won't help my sales much, but the V-Sat is very similar to the other GM series. Where you located and maybe you could sign up for some of my classes?

Could you tell me where you got that flat target cup that you demonstrate in the video?

Thanks for the great info. I have also saw the White GMZ. Is that the same as a GMT without the display or are they totally different detectors? If they are different I would be curious how they stack up against each other.

Gerry, I can't decide between the X-Terra 705 gold pack or the GMT. How good is the 705 at finding gold in comparison to the GMT? Thanks, Kyle
