This is one of my favorite pieces of music ever composed, it’s awesome that they performed it during the unique Pyongyang concert with the NY Philharmonic. May L. Maazel rest in peace.

I was fortunate to have a family while growing up in the 50s that loved this piece of art. I loved it even at age six and still do to this day as I'm seventy three years old. I sit back and close my eyes and so many memories and emotions come to me as if it's surreal.

This is a masterful performance of this piece. The trumpet solos were whimsical, bluesy, and smooth - like butter. The trombones and tuna were excellent, too. All were wonderful!

19:20 The most beautiful A minor ever written. It never resolves in to F major, the key of the piece. Gershwin leaves on the verge, forever yearning for that return to F major, "our home" as Leonard Bernstein said about Mahler's Adagietto.
