at the 40 second mark you see the sparring partner quickly put his foot back in after almost exiting on the back foot. Its beautiful subtle techniques like that that make me love boxing, that little trick makes you not give away too much real estate whenever standing ground is better for you
@ji-di7zr4 жыл бұрын
It looks to me like he got his foot stood on and then be attempted to return the stomp, it also looks like what you a said a little foot feint
@Omar-if1cu4 жыл бұрын
Ben Irish hahaha well attempting to return the stomp is fine by me, reminds me of the old school days you dont bitch like bernard hopkins you just return the favor and keep fighting strong
@ji-di7zr4 жыл бұрын
@@Omar-if1cu hahaha I'ave never had my foot stomped on purpose during sparring but if I was preparing for a real fight I'd need someone to be a bit dirty with me for sure. Do refs ever warn fighters for that?
@Omar-if1cu4 жыл бұрын
Ben Irish refs only warn for what they see or notice and there are many things refs know are illegal but many never say anything about (clinching, turning away too much aka the shoulder roll, hitting someone behind the head when they duck low, ducking way too low, pushing and wrestling like floyd lol many things including even leaving your jab outreached in the air). Now as far as dirty sparring you will have your fair share of dirty fighters when you sparr in other gyms (happened to me when i was boxing in my teen years), but it would be an asshole move to just be dirty with any sparring partner whether they are from your gym or not, unless they started it of course... so having agreed that beforehand with someone you know would be better.... but its unnecessary in my opinion and someone might not like it. Maybe the sparring partner would quietly resent you or get angry or maybe the trainers would be enraged. It doesnt sound like a bad idea though as long as everyone is honestly on the same page.
@ji-di7zr4 жыл бұрын
@@Omar-if1cu yeah that makes alot of sense, I did think the refs are rarely looking that low anyway. It would be interesting to see what would happen to fighters if refs decided to thoroughly enforce less used laws of boxing. If a ref started taking points off Floyd for turning away or hugging too much hahahaha I bet there would be a big offshore secret payday for a ref to force that, and technically within his rights to enforce it as long as no one found out about the money 😂
