Utilizing the factory intercooler spray system which only comes with 1 nozzle in the shroud, I have plumbed an additional 2 nozzles to completely cover the top mount intercooler during warmer conditions. Using RO or distilled water of course to not allow for buildup in between cooler fins. Fmic is coming in the future, but with that comes a precision turbo 76mm and an overhaul. Hi Duncan, thanks for mapping my Impreza back in May. Would I need bigger injectors than the yellow 440cc side feeds on my MY98 GC8 JDM WRX Impreza to get to 400bhp with a Fastline turbo? Currently mapped at 338bhp with larger top mount intercooler, 255lph fuel pump, decat exhaust, Mafless K&N air filter, VF22 turbo. Also is a fuel pressure regulator required as well? Thanks.
@racedynamix Жыл бұрын
Good morning sir 😎 Yes the 440cc top out at 350bhp. A set of larger injectors would be needed.. Ideally 650cc upwards. Trouble is reliable or nice side feed injectors are rare so my best suggestion would be to go for top feed conversion. Fuji Racing do a lovely kit then you have a very wide range of modern and efficient injectors to work with. It's not a cheap step but if you must hit the magic 400 it is the best way imo 👍

Either slightly bigger injectors or a adjustable fpr to provide enough fuel. Decat or good sports cat system And either ported std headers or gt spec. Obviously a fmic will help give enough cold air too.

Hey bro, i have a Hawkeye version 9 jdm sti, are the stock internals safe with this turbo? What’s the hp limit on these ej207s?
@racedynamix Жыл бұрын
Hi :) Generally the JDM EJ207 STi engine is good for 450. Obviously it depends on how safely it is mapped as nothing is 100% bullet proof but they are a great engine IMO. HP Limits dont really exist for any of the ej engines as there are always exceptions but they should be safe handling the power of what these turbos can produce. Thanks for watching

Hi, may I ask, if I were to to my K&N open pod air filter to some other brand open pod (from 6 inch to 4 inch maybe), do I actually need a retune on it?
@racedynamix Жыл бұрын
Hi. Difficult to say definitively without knowing your car or the tune on it. But.. If you are running a maf sensor and replacing the maf housing and filter then it may alter the readings from the maf sensor. That would in turn change the air fuel ratio.. And need adjustment in the maps. If it is just the filter on the end of the inlet pipe and the maf housing remains then it is unlikely to change much if anything. However, it is easy and very worthwhile to make a set of det cans following the instructions in my video to check that the car is happy. Check Afr with a wideband to make sure the same. I will be doing a vid on that soon. Or.. Do some data logging and tune in to the live stream that I will be doing and we can see what is going on.. Hope that helps

Hi mate could you tell us what supporting mods that jdm vf400 Subaru had, am looking to get to that type of power
@racedynamix27 күн бұрын
Hi. To get to 400 on that turbo set up on jdm you would want fmic, ideally some slightly larger injectors or fpr as the std 550 max at 400 ish on a 2.0. Obviously free flowing exhaust is needed too. Std headers are fine and no advantage in changing the twin scroll std headers.

@racedynamix Жыл бұрын
Difficult one.. I have many customers with a std wrx engine running over 400bhp. They understand the risk that their engine could go at any point.. And generally can afford to replace or rebuild. If you can't then I would recommend sticking to a normal Vf35 type turbo upgrade as that makes for a great road car. Chasing power is always expensive

I have just bought a stock JDM Forester sti type m. I think it's totally stock. What work would I have to do to achieve the 400 bhp range. I'm guessing it's not just the turbo. Would I have to have forge work done or would it be reliable/safe without that kind of work too?
@racedynamix10 ай бұрын
Hi. I prese this is the SF5 based 2001 version.. 400 is beyond the capability of a lot of the components tbh. Gearbox, engine, turbo, injectors, clutch, ecu, intercooler, induction.. It would be massively more expensive to go for 400 rather than 350 which would be a fraction of the cost.
