@IAG Performance, any reason the Stage 3 & Trojan blocks was skipped entirely? I understand that it shares a lot with the Magnum block but it would’ve been nice to hear the input on the copper sealing rings found on them which arnt used on any of the other blocks in the video. That plus it steps up to the Tri Beam Rod in the Stage 3. I think a video in the same format going over the difference between the Stage 3 Extreme, Magnum, & Trogan blocks would be a fitting addition to the channel.

Thanks for all the great information! Or are you guys able to pick and choose from all the bearings you have to find ones that match perfectly? I think I have a IAG assembled block in my car since 2012 (did you guys make a deal with Import Image Racing around then that allowed them to sell your stages of blocks under their name, but I pretty sure I remember they accredited you guys with doing all the work on the block.)

Hi, I live in CA as well. Just make sure your compression ratio is going to be very close to your original block and head set up. forged or not, so long as the stock tune can run the fueling correctly for the brief period during smog, you should be capable of passing without issue. Granted your emissions devices are all installed and functional. for example, a 10:1 compression engine on the stock map would likely be a huge no-go and be impossible to pass smog as a result.

@@sweatyben1550 Hi, I have two WRX STI 2.5, one with stage 2.5, and one with iag longblock 900, if you use a standard thickness gasket (stage 2.5) the compression ratio remains the same as the standard EJ25, so by mapping the ECU correctly you have no problem, you could also map the 3 maps in a different way, in order to pass the emission control with the first map. If you just want to make the EJ25 engine better strong, you have two options: 1 Buy new pistons and connecting rods and keep the power low, or take for example a 2.5 iag stage, using the standard gasket, and a standard head, then you will have power in safety and no problem with emissions. If you need it, I have 2 WRX STI with IAG engines. A greeting

Great video, but what is the point of forging your internals on a semi closed block, when the cylinder wall flexes under heat cycles and boost pressure. Which causes head gasket failure, to say you rate the semi closed deck at 500hp is really pushing it. Here in the uk, all good engine builders highly recommend close decking at 400hp. Some say even at stock power it should be closed decked due to the movement on the cylinder wall. Forging your engine won't stop head gasket failure. Interesting video though 👍
@kujinsan26 Жыл бұрын
He's talking 500BhP which is like 330-350whp. If your builder is saying anything past 400 he means WHP needs a closed deck. I hear a lot of RAs are making past 400whp on stock block but personally for peace of mind I would go closed deck after 400 WHP

@RicondaRacing Жыл бұрын
@@SiCaRiI_DaGgEr they've since relabeled the stage 2.5 to the 750 block. I think the limiting factor is the head gasket at those boost levels. @IAG Performance is there max boost/PSI tolerances for these motors? Ideally looking for 25-30 PSI but not more than 500whp. By HP rating alone stage 2 tuff would work, but would the stage 2.5 be recommended because it's a closed block?
@theiagchannel3 жыл бұрын
We would recommend the stage 2.5

i just dont get it, running at 210kw 574.5nm i done the ring lands, apparently oem is only good for 200kw max, fair o. so after the rebuild with forged pistons (rings etc) 14mm ARP head bolts and aftermarket ECU im guessing 230kw maybe 250kw at the wheels i lifted a head with 14mm studs, we are talking 800hp with 14mm studs? how do i even get to 500hp at the fly without 14mm studs, we are talking 500hp on a pretty much standard block (with pistons) whats the secret? edit: 2009 wrx hatch with 257 short block, obviously modified, most bolts-ons short of type of fuel used done, tho still using topmount aftermarket

Which block should I go with if I plan on going around 500 whp... daily and sometimes racing it? And is it any problems going in the 03 wrx?
@theiagchannel Жыл бұрын
If you plan to use the 2.0 heads I'd go with the Stage 2.5 International Hybrid Block. It has specially designed pistons to work with your 2.0 heads. Give us a call and we can get you everything you need.

You didn't really touch on over building blocks like you said you did in this video and then just saying get ahold of us and ask us questions doesn't really work. I have had one guy at your shop go above and beyond with all of my questions and orders. I still have yet to buy a part that I haven't had an issues with. With that said you have always made it right but after pulling teeth which hurts because I'm a huge fan.

if im installing a built block and there is nothing wrong with the current block, is the timing chain and tensioners ok or should i replace them? (fa20dit)
@theiagchannel2 жыл бұрын
Depending on the mileage, we would recommend it but it all goes off inspection when they are removed.

In regards to the ej20 magnum, would ej20g (1998 wrx) heads be fine to use, or would you recommend 205/207 heads? Not sure what power I want to make yet, but probably around 450-500bhp.
@theiagchannel3 жыл бұрын
Ej20g heads would work but 205 or 207 would be better flowing.
