This has since left the fleet due to being impractical and fuel thirsty. Handled amazingly, aside from that didn't have much else going for it.

Knowing the routes your company operates putting a full size single decker down narrow country lanes would definitely make it impractical I have experience of this myself and it’s not pretty when you stuck so it’s probably for the best it got sold fuel thirsty on the over hand I find hard to believe I find hard to believe because it’s a Volvo and B7RLEs are notorious for being very economical in terms of consumption but I could be wrong in case you’re wondering what bus I was driving down a narrow country lane and had said difficulties it was a man powered enviro 300 and I ripped half the near side panels off before getting stuck in a ditch trying to avoid some loose sheep.

Yeah the handling on the B7RLEs was one of their best features, the front suspension was absolutely shocking along with the rattling Wright bodies on the ones I drove. I drove mostly "Penta" 290hp engined ones with Voith 4-speed boxes. The steering/turning angle was better than the Dennis Darts I found so the nightmare of trying to get one down a narrow street was made slightly easier.

As much as I like the B7RLE buses. I think an Enviro 200 would be more suitable as there is not so much overhang on the back. Although its not as bad as a Leyland National as the overhang on those things is insane!

I’ve seen double deckers on TM Travel’s 218 and 252. Obviously it’s unfair to compare the 257 to the 218 & 252. Plus I’m not a bus driver so I have no clue on comparing bus routes to each other. Especially when the routes operated by a different company

Here in Australia we have b7rles but a lot of voiths. He have Volgren cr228L bodies but with voiths if your near the front of the bus it’s really smooth and our busses don’t rattle as much unless they are scanias but are the b7rles at the uk smooth?

Do the B7RLEs cope well with heat because i have seen Arriva take off many Enviro 200MMCs and put on the eclipses?
