I was using a MojoMojo for OD1 and an XTS Atomic OD for OD2 but the Gearbox replaced them both. When I add Channel 2 for solos, WOW.

Have the Halo already and the other 2 are in route from the shops through Reverb. Will be able to build my Tres Andres next week. I have a Tech 21 RK5 and a line 6 M9 for some decent chorus and modulation effects so my pedal board should be a beast by next week. Oh yea can’t forget my Dunlop crybaby Jerry Cantrel Signature. What a friggen awesome wah.

I have TWO Gearboxes and TWO Woodsheds because I have a big board and a little board. I have a Halo on the big board and a little Donner Yellow Fall mini delay on the little board. The only other pedals on my little board are a mini PolyTune 3 and a PluTONEium Chi Wah Wah.

When I was young I had every peddle that came out , now I'm old Ive become a minimalist minimalist, I only use overdrive , delay and reverb. and a treble booster , it changes but right now I have a Timmy ,Crowther Hotcake ,Naga viper treble booster and Memiory Man Nano , great video , that Halo sounds incredible , and the Woodshed I hope to make , star lineup 👍

My main sound is only 3 pedals ... a kingsley page clean tube boost, an xotic soul driven with a mids knob to crank em .. and an el capistan delay (set same - slapback and some spring and a longer ambient delay)... i slowly pulled pedals off the board until i was left with these and i am happiest i have been , no more compressors , multiple boosts , modulations ... i could never get sounds i loved with modulation in band/live settings ... i play strat into bassman ... good video anyway

Hey this is great, I have been so close to buying a HX stomp but this video makes me re think it. The halo sound great, I would think my dyna comp would do for the compression. Only have a Tube screamer so I would have to pick a distortion. Thanks Andy for this.

What a great little board! Running a mono mini board since ~1 month now with the xotic rc/ac oz, jam pedals delay & strymon flint. Gets everything done and its so light and easy to carry around. Love the mini boards!

I put the gearbox in the return&send of a multy effect board and way better. .than putting it straight into a amp. Don't no how but sounds great. More volume and more powerful and more precise

More the pickups and amps than the pedals, if we're being honest. I have the Gearbox, it can be great or so-so depending on which guitar you use it with. Both guitars could have great pickups and still one may not sound so good with the Gearbox.

Great info! Does that effects loop breakout box work automatically? i.e. if you throw cables on it the delay gets taken out of the front chain and through it whereas when it's not in use it stays after the other pedals?

I have a helix and love it but I just ordered the Gearbox. It looks like Andy just uses The Halo for the ambiance instead of Reverb. I'm thinking that his pedsl board would be better than the Helix. The Helix does so much but sometimes less is more.

Your Tone is in your hands! I love this setup! I do love my Flint, but this is a great no nonsense rig. Can’t be mad at it? Tell you what, that Halo is really nice. With the expression pedal it seems super simple to get a bunch of great, usable tones? I have an MXR EP03 with a Tap tempo that I use in a similar way, but it doesn’t sound as good.

@@andywoodmusic I got the Dunlop Mini X with TRS cables and still can't get the pedal to work with Halo, even with power cycle. Did you change any of the dip switch settings?

@@ew6629 I got on the Dunlop page and found the dip settings that were for exp, set it like that. But even now sometimes if exp pedal isn’t reading I’ll unplug the board and plug it back in, problem solved. Tried reaching out to Rob Keeley?

@@andywoodmusic Ended up contacting Keeley in case others have a similar problem. If you have an "early" version of Halo, you may run into the same problem as I did. Here's what they said "a first article Halo, those have some issues with some transformer-less style PSU's. I have a mod here to resolve that. The issues can present itself in a couple ways, freezing up or partially loading the DSP. Yours seems to be experiencing a partial loading of the DSP and in turn is affecting the expression because the pots and toggle is offline and not fully loaded." I've sent the pedal to Keeley for that fix.

Just depends on the music. But most of my stuff is buckers, I go singles if I need that traditional Tele or strat thing. Junktown-single coil, forgotten secrets/reach-buckers
