Aww, I never thought of it that way. 😢 I mean, it a nutshell, he did try to avoid accepting the reality of what was happening, but imo, it wasn't full denial. He was trying to be in denial, but he wasn't oblivious to what was happening. (I mean, by the way he was debating with Mickey in the classroom, it seemed like he knew it was gonna happen again.) Because if he was oblivious or in full fledged denial, he would've never made that tape nor took the situation seriously at all. This scene for him was like a temporary escape mechanism. Like: "We just started to get our lives back, now we gotta go through this bs again?" Just because he didn't accept it right away like Sidney did doesn't mean he never acknowledged it to himself or took it seriously. That's why I don't get why people say he died because he didn't take the situation seriously. Which is false. He had PTSD and tried to cover up what he really felt. I mean he was in love with Sidney. He was able to keep that to himself, so maybe he was just good at hiding any true feelings and just didn't like showing his true emotions, using sarcasm and humor as a facade. And like you said, this maybe (to a point) was him also trying to be brave for Sidney..even though she didn't buy it because they knew each other too well. So that's how I look at it: Randy tried to be in denial; he wanted to be in denial..but deep down, he was obviously aware of it and knew that this was gonna pull them back in. And like Sidney said, soon he was gonna realize that he couldn't move passed it or hide from it. Sidney reminded him that he had to accept their new reality, as much as he didn't want to.

@@godiswithme14 Alright. Yeah. Emotional avoidance sounds more like it but his death was because of one mistake. Sidney said denial because he refused to admit what was going on.

@@JamaicaZ160R1793010A I always looked at it like this: him messing up the movie line in the classroom and then trying to be in denial while talking to Sidney was supposed to show that Randy wasn't perfect and that he could easily be a target. When really, insulting Billy (though he didn't realize who he was talking to) and losing his virginity beforehand is what really sealed his doom. I always believed this scene and the classroom scene were simply just showing that even though Randy knew a lot about horror movie rules, it didn't mean he was 100% invincible/immortal or incapable of being a hypocrite to his own rules himself.

@@redmd9772 yes, there is. Specifically, British pronunciation. Geez, Brits need to get over themselves. Of course, "there are 50+ accents in England alone, blah blah blah" but it's difficult to differentiate them all (and to be honest, nobody cares), however they all share similar aspects of British pronunciation what makes them generally recognised worldwide as "British accent", which is altogether audibly different to American pronunciation in general. There are many American accents in the States as well, but no American is whining "hey, there are many accents in America alone, there's no such thing as American accent" lol Whining when someone says "accent" instead of "pronunciation" is just nitpicking and not necessary

why he’s talking in a British accent is because they couldn’t get it right. either someone would mess up the line, or they couldn’t get the blocking right, whatever. so he decided to talk in a British accent cause he knew they’d have to redo it but it was the only scene they got everything right and they didn’t want to refilm is so they kept it in
