Still incredibly new and waiting for my first subscriber lol.. I have to say though, it’s incredibly nice that the smaller channels come together like this to support one another. I wish everyone here the best of luck! May our content reach our future audience soon.

If u wanna grow fast, do KZbin shorts. I went from 0 to 836k subs in about 3 years uploading shorts daily.
@7Positivepulse5 ай бұрын
my challenge is my shorts just get views for one day that's so
@derekroberts59315 ай бұрын
How did shorts translate to long form content and did shorts make you good cash via ads or affiliate links? Thanks

Yeah but growing from long form is a lot more valuable. Should have a balance of both.

The input on doing market research was perfect timing for me. I was starting to notice even my most polished well made videos were being outperformed by specific topics. Your affirmation will help me lean more into that style of video so thanks so much for all the good info here!

I am new to KZbin, learning a LOT about KZbin, working on my presentation confidence. I have plenty of ideas running around my mind and a kind of plan for the channel along with content. I know thumbnails are something I really need to work on and improve. Shorts are performing better than main videos. Working with an iPhone and iMovie which I am slowly getting hang of.

It's so funny (or silly) that I knew all of these things but still don't fully follow them. When you talk about it, it's so obvious.. But I'm so scared of failing that I'm scared to try things too far out from what I'm already doing. Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for this video :)

The concerning thing with these tips you mentioned is over time you will feel burned out especially if the content you are constantly putting is not interesting to you. Yes, I agree on the part that you will find growth in uploading whatever your viewers want to consume but it cannot be sustainable. So overall its gonna depend on what your goal is as creator. If you want to grow fast then just serve your viewers whatever they like even if you dont feel like doing it. But if you want to enjoy every bit of the process without the pressure of growing fast, then create the stuff you like. But, i think the balance should be serve your audience a lot of value initially because they dont event know who are you until you gain following and establish your authority in your niche or space and experiment from there purely based on your interests. Just my 2 cents as a creator myself.

True! And that’s why most people quit I think. They just want to make videos they like but also want to get thousands or millions of views. Majority of the time those two are the same. I think having a good why can help as well. People do work they hate sometimes because it serves a deeper cause. There’s a lot of content I make that’s not my passion because i’m passionate about helping people and growing my business. So goals and what success means to you is important.

I made a video "Security Guard Test Questions and Answers 2024" and it ranks and gets consistent views. However my "followup" "Armed Securtiy Guard Test Questions and Answers 2024" flopped. Not sure what I did wrong, but the first one worked and the follw up didn't. Same style thumbnail, title, editing, pace, except I had to go more in depth due to teh nature of the video.

Yes however isn't YT getting good enough to serve what you create to the right people even if the topic is small? Meaning you won't go viral in the larger sense yet for your topic you will eventually gather the right people? Or is it such that the wheel of YT feeds YT so unless you are in effect copying what's already working within a range of poplar topics then you won't ever really reach people? Or do you couch your smaller topic in a larger popular topic so that you gain an audience?
@CollinMichael5 ай бұрын
Yes! Even if it’s a small topic KZbin will try and find the right viewer for it. And depending on your goals you may want to only reach a specific group of people. (Like a real estate agent only looking to reach potential customers in their area) Just keep in mind a smaller topic that only appeals to some of your audience won’t get as many views. :)
@CollinMichael5 ай бұрын
Example: I have a video called “Envato Elements Review: Is It Worth It In 2024?” or something like that. It’s slowly growing over the months and is only designed to reach people interested in buying the software. The goal of the video is to get people to hear my review and then purchase through my affiliate link. It won’t get millions of views but does make me money which is one of my goals.
@WyattChristman5 ай бұрын
@@CollinMichael Excellent thank you! It reinforces what I have seen and experienced even though I can get lost in seeing just through the lens of views. That one video of course then is an asset rather than just a video.

I am concerned about some of this advice. Please remember I'm just some dude and not nearly as successful at KZbin. If your goal is just to get attention then fine. However, if you are an artist, creating what you think the fans want is almost never a good idea. When it fails you have nothing. If you made art for YOU, you still have the art. Imagine knowing you wrote a song like honkey tonk badonka donk and it didn't sell. You were a sell out for nothing? I'm not saying be a starving artist. What I am saying is that YOU are the art. If people do or don't like your art, that is none of your business. You will eventually find out where you stand
