Love the direction of these new videos. You always present things so clearly and concise. Laughed at the bit showing the huge, unwieldy rig. Reminded me of the struggles I used to have.

My issue was in in my first pursuit of anamorphic I bought a sankor 16f and double focused for a few shoots and loved it, but after seeing everyones Kowa b&h footage in the anamorphic facebook group I decided to sell it because building a rapido rig for something i'd eventually want to upgrade anyways just didn't seem worth it.. Now I just save until i can afford a kowa + rapido rig OR just take the easy route and see if i can nab a used vazen lens on ebay. Decisions -_________- In the meantime I have a sirui 35mm 1.33x and i'll have to settle for that look until i can stack some cash

Just made my first anamorphic rig after years of dreaming. Decided to just go with the anamorphot 50 1.33x on my Lumix S1, so far it's looking amazing, and the new green coating actually looks really great on the helios 44. Focusing is also super easy with it which was a huge thing I was worried about. The size makes it very versatile too. big enough for most lenses i own, but not too big. Using it on the S1 is really nice, it has great low light so stopping the lens down for sharpness isn't a problem, fits the full frame on a 40mm lens which ends up being like a 26mm width. Really loving the set up. I actually got it because of your review :D

I want you to know that these Anamorphic 101 videos are very informational, and entertaining! You are really putting in the work and it shows. You would absolutely hate my rig as I have a canon c100 with a rokinon lens and then a medium sized (in the world of isco ultra stars) adapter lol. But my style is tripod based so weight is not too big of a worry, and like you said, the quality is amazing.

Great video as always, a lot of useful information ! Thanks for your work. Just one thing : It would be great if you exemplified what you're saying more, talking about specific lenses and rigging solutions (like you did with the bigger bulkier lenses in the beginning of the video). I also noticed that you got the S5 ! How are you liking it? Do you only use the dedicated mode when you shoot anamorphic ? Thanks again !

Thank you! I'm saving some of that for the actual Cookbook! I'm loving the S5. If I didn't have MFT anamorphics (Vazen and Sirui), I'd be close to retiring the GH5.

Thanks! Im personally using the anamorphot compact 40 with the voigtlander 28mm and 40mm SLIIs with surprising results. I'm only missing the oval bokeh. Considering doing a mod haha., Also thristing after the aivascope 1.5

I've just started my anamorphic journey and really appreciate the amount of effort you have put into creating the amazing library of tips and reviews for us to access on your channel here! The 'cookbook' sounds interesting indeed. For an old Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera (HD) what would you recommend to look out for as a first anamorphic lens on a budget, without buying the cheapest bottom of the line lens available? Are the SLR Magic anamorph's any good for the M43 mount cameras? Thanks in advance for any insights offered.

I'd steer clear of the SLR Magic primes, but look into Sirui!
