Note you are on the coast for a measly 4 hours max. False advertising in my view. Why is there no guaranteed connection to 14 from the Chicago and New Orleans trains. Train 14 shall not leave until all connections are in the station and passengers are loaded on 14 . Again false advertising of guaranteed connection.

There’s a much bigger demand for quick transportation from A to B than there is for excursion runs. Amtrak fails to recognize this.

Routes like the cascades, and serf liner (which use the same tracks as the coast starlight) are close to break even, meaning a small boost in ridership along that corridor would mean Amtrak has a second profitable route
