just commenting before watching, when i first started playing csgo in 2012, aim was very important to me when i started taking the game more seriously. but after a year, i realized that it wasnt as important as having perfect xhair placement and good decision making with timings and utils. since then, i havnt practiced aiming(unless im playing in a tournament) which is a good thing cus whenever i take long breaks, i can come back and not worry about aiming and still get a positive rating against level 10s.

im in this video for 20 minutes and dont know if this gets mentioned. But I think the disadvantage that comes with a higher sens is also that, when an enemy is far away, every slight unnecessary movement with a high sens will make you miss your target. On the other side, with a lower sens, if you for example start to spray down somebody who is pretty far away or even tap, every little movement is extremely minimized compared to the high sens.

Nato, if this discussion made you curious, I'd love to see you watch some of his videos (if you havent already) and discuss your own experience, such as if you ever used aim trainers outside CSGO. My aim has improved a bit since starting a Kovaaks aim routine, but I don't plan on changing my sensitivity or mouse grip.
@sofarsogodАй бұрын
n0thing once said and I bet other pros as well: best sens is the one which allows you to do an insta perfect 180 flickshot out of muscle memory. If you overflick when trying to do a 180 its because your sens is high and you cant control it, if you underflick you are closer, because always underflicking is better than overflicking.
@kissobajslovski10 ай бұрын
This explains so much for me. I'm a low sensitivity player 0.61 on 800 dpi. And I got all kinds of wristproblems trying to change to a higher sensitivity. I felt my movement got better but my aim worse. But my leetify rating goes up when I'm playing low sensitivity. 😅
@CoolBurnz9 ай бұрын
I think it should be stated that there is an acceptable range of sensitivities. For the average player, you’re aim is going to improve 10x more by focusing on mastering crosshair placement and movement rather than focusing on finding the perfect sens. Imo, pick a sens that lets you control your micro adjustments when shooting at range and the ability to at least 180 with a full swipe. Then, adjust your sens if it’s become and apparent issue

interesting analysis. My theory is that the "wiggle" isnt actually always simple having shaky aim. im sure sometimes it is, but I also think that its a way to better see your xhair in high stress situations. Maybe my sense is also still just too high, but in certain situations i also sometimes wiggle my cross hair just for the fact that I think it lets me better reset my arm/hand and makes me dial into the center of your screen

Watched the whole thing. I see there’s a lot of people pointing out Voltaic community in the comments. I’ve learned quite a bit there and would recommend to check it out. Thoughts based on knowledge from Voltaic: - Not being able to control higher sens (higher is relative to your motor skills baseline) is a skill issue and can be trained - Overflicking is a skill issue and can be trained against - Underflicking is a useful technique and can be trained to be utilised (not a problem when done intentionally) But besides that I tend to agree with your approach if you’re trying to pick a sens for game to use currently. I feel like it’s a more rational approach compared to what most top aimers recommend (just taking the average pro sens and tweaking from there), especially if you have some experience. I feel like you could’ve hit the the golden spot if you mentioned that current motor skills / aim level isn’t static and should be reevaluated from time to time. So that the fitting sens when you start out could be 800 EDPI but after a year of aim training you could get to 1000. I also feel like the environment and current skill group as a result plays a huge role in what sens will actually work out. Say 800-1000 EDPI will work for Nova level, but below 600 EDPI won’t since people will be running circles around with P90 and you can’t rely on your team much. So it could be a natural thing to decrease sens the more controlled your environment gets.
@natosaphix2nd2009 ай бұрын
Very interesting comment and I agree with all of it The thing with Nova requiring a higher sens is actually an interesting thought I’ve never had, since it’s been a while since I was at that level Thank you for sharing! And definitely check out Voltaic if anyone watches this video

actually dpi changes don't translate 1:1 if you say you go from 400 dpi with 3 sens to 800 with 1.5 sens and expect the same sens then thats not the case almost every mice and depending which mice you use you will have DPI deviation

@owlfury-beast10 ай бұрын
Changing DPI while keeping EDPI the same most likely result in the same cm/360 but a different feeling. DPI deviation is a valid concern, but usually it is consistent across steps. For example, something like +2% will result in 408 / 816 / 1632 actual DPI, you get the idea :)

If you check out the aiming community, they advice to train with differend senses, as aiming is a skill. Some stuff you learn with faster sens which translates then to a calmer aim in general. They even have a program which changes the sens randomly all minutes or so for aiming routines, so you train your muscles more. I think everyone can learn this honestly, it just needs practice. The voltaic community is amazing in this regards to get infos about aiming

aim in CS is based 80% on crosshair placement and weapon control. I have about 700 hours in aimlab/kovaak programs and I feel like it didn't do anything for me. I have had the pleasure of working with people from this community. The problem is that they focus on general aim, not specific games. Let's not forget that weapon control is also important in CS, and being super precise is not always enough in games of this type. More knowledge about CS = better gameplay. Playing with changing sensitivity is not beneficial. I refer you to BardOZ's video on this problem.

I agree to a large extent about the sensitivity theory you present in the video, but I need to ask you about the importance of practise. Many aim coaches think that with enough practise most people can adjust to a medium to high sensitivity. Low sensitivity come with a lot of disadvantages regarding movement and ability to clear corners. I have tried to adjust to a low sensitivity of 720 edpi but i feel like I am not able to clear corners comfortably. What is your thoughts on this issue?

I have a eDPI of 700 (400*1.75) and I can clean corners properly while walking and moving my crosshair to the spots. I think u need to get used to the sensitivity and practice on how to play with ur sensitivy, how to move when checking etc

Hi. I have a question on micro adjustments - what exercises/movements/actions would you recommend performing to evaluate whether my sensitivity needs adjustments. Throughout the video you mention that it should match my level of microadjustments, but how exactly would I approach the evaluation - I’d assume some strafing bot head tracking would be good start, but is there anything you would practicallu do to understand whether particular sensitivity suits you. Cheers and thanks for the video

have you tried aim training? i only say this because in the video you said that you think no matter how much you try, you'd never reach a good enough level of micro adjustments and fine motor skills that you could perform in a pressure setting on high sens. obviously it would be an insult to your skill to even try and compare myself to you, but i think i have to disagree with that. i used to be of the opinion that kovaaks/aimlabs is a silly approach to improving aim in game, after getting into it for 8~ months now, i am noticeably much more comfortable and consistent on higher sens (i was also a low sens player as i had very shaky aim even on median sens). i know some pros like elige do it pretty consistently, and while it's still best used as a supplement to your real ingame training, it has made me change my mind about things as someone who also used to feel like i was forced to use low sens.

I have an unreleased video of me playing S1mple’s sensitivity for a full month Every day for a month I did 1-2 hours of aim practice kovaak’s/aimlabs and tracked the results I definitely did get better at playing with that sensitivity but my micro adjustments and overall calmness of aiming was still horrendous compared to the people who play this sensitivity professionally The conclusion I came to is that while I can improve, I will hit a plateau that I can’t beat. I obviously could be wrong but after having tried an experiment like this for a full month, I’d say I have given it an honest go for science but my results came back negatively

@natosaphix2nd2009 ай бұрын
Big shoutout the Voltaic community! They can teach you a million things about aim that I have never learnt because those people are EXPERTS when it comes to raw aiming and how to practice that The advantage that I have over Voltaic and that I try to use to teach in this video, is that I have with 100% certainty watched more CS than them. I have played against the best players, I have an understanding of CS mechanics that they likely won’t ever have. That’s exactly why this video tries to cover things related to aiming that are fresh and that I have never heard people talk about - things that the Voltaic community maybe have not thought of, since they are not CS specific. If what you got from this video is that I talk about sensitivity for 120 minutes, I think it’s worth rewatching I can’t teach people how to aim like the guys from Voltaic can but I think this video can help people understand some things about CS specific aiming that no one has ever said before on the internet. Thank you for your comment and I appreciate the feedback no matter what! ❤️
