@@JonathanUsmar is and isn't. Chickens agent bronze age either, after all. The first time you enter the swamp you'll be in bronze age kit, so anything you can gather while wearing that is fair game.

​@richardreumerman5449 I wouldn't enter the plains with bronze gear. But you can perfectly go there with root gear due to the pierce resistance. So it is viable to get chickens at mid swamp levels assuming normal skill levels wrt fighting.

A lot better of a way to kill deathsquitos: just use a leveled up finewood bow lol, even with wooden arrows it can 1 shot a deathsquito when it's coming toward you. If you want some strategy the easiest way to dodge a deathsquito attack is just you run in a straight line away from it, and jump as it comes toward you, or roll at it and kill it with your fists I don't really care. But after you dodge once you just prepare a shot and wait for it to attack you again, once it's in a b-line toward you it's a very easy shot and it's also dead if you hit it.

I was able to use this technique dressed cap-à-pie in bronze armor with a bronze buckler and mace. Lox ate my boat, but I survived the deathsquitors. Aside from cooked eggs, there's nothing food-wise I can make with chickens that I want to feed my Viking. OTOH, I constantly need feathers, and having chickens is much easier than cutting down several forests to get feathers.

the chests with the eggs are not always on the side with the stairs, sometimes they're on the other side. if u go through the portal and ur on stairs, GO BACK THROUGH, do not go past the doorway, the boss is right there and if u have bronze age gear, even iron or silver age gear, the boss will most likely kill u, try doing the same thing but on the opposite side of the stairs

this was a game changer for me... Eggs and Chicken are Top Tier foods no doubt. I can Run around with Salad, Mushroom Omelet, and Honey Glazed Chicken. With a couple of farms and a couple Portals to Cloud Berry patches to ensure a constant Supply.

Serpent shield also protects you from piercing damage - need to kill a serpent though and collect its scales. Bronze Age leviathans…..30 chiton. Prob possible. I had to switch worlds to find a leviathan early enough.

The chicken stats vs the risk of going into the Plains at that level - It's much easier to just farm Serpents at night in the Ocean. Same stats after cooking. ...although, you can't create a "farm" for Serpents like you can the eggs.

Bright idea. The thing though, we never have such clear map when Hildur puts marks unless complete cheese. We don't know the nearby locations and on every map there are just 3 possible locations of tower. If you reveal by line of sight one, are others are gone, I don't know yet. I like early swamp crypt exploration without swamp key and mountain exploration without Bonemas.

Some people like the challenge of doing it on a new/lower lvl char I'd imagine. Maybe it's still a cheesy strat, but you could still argue you did it legit on a fresh character. Some people like making new characters per world for the challenge of leveling them up, or at least bringing over an old character without any gear or items

@killer930000 Characters being able to transport items between worlds is an intended feature of the game as designed by the Devs. Whereas the method in this video takes advantage of an exploit in the game. An exploit is something that is NOT an intended feature and was not designed by the Devs to be used in this way. An exploit is not legit by any stretch of the imagination. Transporting items between worlds is legit, but can also be viewed as cheesey. Exploiting a game bug is both illegitimate and cheesey. And this is a 100% exploit no matter how you try to justify it. This idea that it can't be considered an exploit simply because it involves tools available in the game is absolutely absurd. The tools are being used to take advantage of an exploit. If tools external to the game were used instead, then it would be a hack. You are butchering some incredibly basic concepts here.

Highly recommend the root chest piece for the plains. The deathsquitots are a non issue with it.

I only recommend it early in your play through because In the plains and beyond there’s a lot of fire type damage and the best well rounded set is the padded armor (I think each root piece makes you 33% weaker to fire). It’s literally godsend if you find a mistlands or plains area early on, you can basically set up a base there with only a couple threats that aren’t common. Also the root harnesk is really good for death runbacks in those biomes, it’s the only armor you’ll need to get your body back if you have one.

I use full padded armour and take potion against fire. Honestly the deathsquitos are not hard to kill. I just stand still wait until they come at me block and hit with Iron mace. Hardest thing in plains for me are the tar blobs. Goblin camps are easy if you find a big stone near. Get the attention of them and then run to the stone and jump up. They can't get up so you can just use arrows to shoot at them. I'm not good at mobs coming at me so I try find strategic ways that work for me.

Rolls give i-frames against pretty much everything, just enter a stating contest against a trolls crotch with some stamina food, a flint spear, a few minutes of free time and just pressing spacebar while holding right click you can kill one on day 1 if you really want to.

​@@Andrewtr6not sure how people run out of feathers so easily. You don't go out to shoot birds, you just whip your bow out when you see them. Stormy/windy weather they just flock to the ground you get tons. Its also fun when they start landing on the structures you build. Cutting down trees also helps keep the stock up. Little chests in abandoned houses in meadows, mini towers in black forest, chests in sunken crypts, mountains... You have to really try hard to run out of feathers, or you really have to ignore loot, cutting trees, and birds. Before the mistlands update we didn't have chickens and everyone still had enough feathers

@SamLopeZz I hord all loot so that's not the problem. I never see birds around my base and I stopped shooting at them because it's a waste of arrows. I either miss or they fly away by the time I take aim. The birds aren't efficient enough. Chicken farm is way more efficient.

Maybe it's the position of your bases, usually close to water in the meadows there's always a lot. The plains can be even easier, you see further out and no vegetation or trees blocking the view. But overall I understand they added another way to get feathers, just for me they end up in the obliterator

Did you like take into account the cooking station level? Like you need lvl 4 for most stuff in mistlands and to even get lvl 3 you need silver and black metal for lvl4

I usually get silver at the bronze Age into Iron by using the most clever trick of using the stag breaker as a ground thumper then marking silver deposits for later. If you want to take this big Brain convoluted way of playing further. Go into the Mistlands and find Jotunn Iron scrap and. Then get a soldier Seeker to mine the scrap for you. Then collect the scrap. Its the one way I found, to acquire iron scrap easily. You could also try to kill draugr for scrap (rare) or go into the Mountain dungeons and scrap everything. Its a fun but bizarre way to play. It also makes farming easier as killing area bosses ups the difficulty by adding more mob types.

@@convergence1point you can just get iron ingots from tearing down bridges in the mistlands, no need to waste time kiting a seeker soldier and if the bridge has like 3 pillars it gives 3 stacks of iron ingots lmao. (They have iron supports the whole way through inside if you've somehow never noticed them glaring through the bridge cracks.)

I am currently playing a no-boss kill run, just to chill, and I have up to silver gear + chicken farm, got all farming stuff and the raid is only the first one with the boars and necks (food delivery at this stage) :). If you don't kill bosses - raids don't progress.

​@@kazdull no boss run must mean console spawning run? You can get silver without wishbone but you still need a iron pickaxe. Without the swamp key, I Suppose you could grind the rare scrap iron drops from blobs but that would take ages. A troll can mine copper and tin for ya that ain't hard. Without moders tear, no artisan table, no new craft stations, no progression. Overall you can get away with some tricks to progress slowly for a little bit, but eventually bosses are needed for progression unless you devcommands But overall

No, the tower is indistructable and fully enclosed at the bottom. I actually tried digging myself into one, when I first found them. Because I thought the entrance would be somewhere at the bottom and you have to fight your way through to the top. I honestly still don't understand why (unless you're glitching yourself in, like in this video) you have to do a stupid 5-10 minute build & climb just to enter the dungeon.

@Andrewtr6 yes, after a lot of testing of what triggers what raids. I play with people of different skill levels so I tend to make very safe bases; elevation, moats. When I spawned eggs on a server with no boss kills, had plains raid of goblins.
