Fantastic Chris. You nailed it. A couple of screens in the bus would be hugely beneficial. I'm sure they will come, but hey, it's the Sunny Coast....it will just take a while.

@@adventurewithbernie it's interesting that some did have screens 😀...... but it was better that all the sunny coast buses had snart ticketing, when I still see ones in brisbane that don't 🤔

The rail lines were not planned well originally. Everyone wants to go to the beach but the train stations are nowhere near them. It’s a mission to get to either coast from Brisbane. Good video. Good info cheers.

Thanks a bunch for the comment.... I think its much easy to get to beach in the Gold Coast, with the tram connection. Just loving the 50 cent fares to get there too. ❤️ Im not a big fan of the buses on the sunny coast... but the translink app does help big time to organise it

@@AquariusTraveller The connection to the Goldie is pretty straight forward. Sunny Coast will be lucky to get its promised rail link, the way governments are trying to cut costs.

There's no light rail system in the works anymore, however there is a new train line being built that will branch off at Beerwah and terminate at Caloundra, it's estimated that the line will be open by 2032 just in time for the Olympics. Stage 2 of this project will then extend this line north to Maroochydore via the hospital at Birtinya. The line is designed to accommodate 9 car trains (instead of the current 6 cars) and with a top speed of 160kph. I currently commute from Beerwah to the city and on a good day the trip takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Once the Beerburrum to Beerwah duplication as well as cross river rail are completed, it's expected to cut another 5-10 minutes off that trip depending on how the new express services operate. Not too bad.

Can you do videos on down south places like Byron bay or towards Sydney. You always do videos on around brisbane north especially these days. Would love to see some on down south as well. Towards Sydney area and camping areas, brisbane to Sydney travel guide etc

Buses often don't wait for passengers arriving from Brisbane in addition the bus no longer stops on the same side as the arriving train, which mean passengers have to rush to the other side of the platform.

The video is just 5 days old but $0.5 fares on Translink had started from 5Aug2024 & announcement was even more than 2 months earlier than that. Why people need to care about which zones? People must be aware some ferries & pre-booked trains are not 50c.

The 50 cent fares aren't guaranteed to stay yet ...so wanted to mention it just in case 👍

@AquariusTraveller Sept 2024, both major Parties promised to keep 50c fares after election. To make quiet Brisbane trains busy all days, I think QLD need to give $5 to users each ride min 30kms to eligible, max $50 to give per week, then the trains will be filled by lots of job seekers. 50c fares on Translink ferries are lots of savings.

If 50 cents cannot continue to make sense for the to be built Crossriver Rail, then it will become another bigger white elephant project because trains are now far less than busy enough to utilise their capacity even after population has grown after Pandemic.
