Thank you for making these beginner guides for Tekken. These videos are seriously helping me. I started with Strive as my first fighting game and move to SF6. I still regularly play SF6 but I bought Tekken after seeing loads of videos online about it. After watching your 'How to choose your Main Character' video I settled on Jack-8 because he was fundamental bases with no crazy gimmicks so I could focus on just learning the game(I LOVE him, a perfect mix of goofy and badass with some sweet tools). I go online and proceed to get my ASS beat. This game is so hard, but these videos are helping and learning makes winning so satisfying.

This is my first Tekken game and I am so blown away as to how many options/features they have in the game. All of the training things that this video showed like being able to choose which moves the opponent does, combo training, punish training, AI training. All of that in addition to the replay stuff like taking over a character mid-replay and showing recommended combos. It's amazing how many things they were able to put into this game. It makes me feel like I actually have a shot at getting half-decent at the game, lol

I would love to see a video about how to learn a new character with training mode, or at least your approach towards doing so. I'm still new to fighting games and I'll go into training with a character I am not familiar with and just feel like... well what do I do? So I'll mess around with buttons to see how it feels, but I almost always just end the training session feeling like I learned nothing. It could be that I'm just not understanding how to use the character because I'm trying to play it like a character I do know (which are only a few from Tekken 7). So yeah, something like that.
@tristanbryan30679 ай бұрын
I find combo trials are kinda the best way to take a look at a character, from their if you think their combos look cool you go a bit deeper into your moveset but only barely. Sajam put out a great video about advice for new Tekken players(from a new Tekken player) I think it's called and he kinda says what you want to kind of find in your moveset before you go into games.

These videos are incredible! Not sure what you have planned in the future, but would it be possible to make a video that's showing you learning a new character? I feel like that's the one thing that's always impressed me is watching how fast seasoned FGC folks like yourself (Sajam, Brian F, etc.) seem to pick up a character so quickly. I know a large component of that is just time playing fighting games so not something just anyone can replicate but I think it'd be useful for new-ish folks like myself. Thank you again!

well like, me learning a new character is spending hours in a dark room with an 80s playlist on. Not religiously; I play other games a lot as well mostly because my friends don’t play fighting games but I always go back to them. It doesn’t take me long to figure out how to execute combos. The thing is it’s like I’m overthinking once I play someone that’s near or above my level.
