Not related but I have a game mechanic question if someone can help. Since you are guaranteed a basic in opening hand is the game coded to: A) give you a basic + 4 random cards B) roll 5 random cards and rolls them again if there is no basic C) some other thing I didn't think of Knowing this is useful to understand how likely you are to get 2+ basics in opening hand.

@Bropenings it changes the value of pokeballs/having more/less basics in deck IMHO, if it is 1 basic +4 random cards chance of starting with 2+ basics is higher than case B)

I hope the community builds more robust tools for this. It’s currently not worth it for me rn to search for a GP, but searching for wonderpicks with specific cards would he amazing. Say you got multiples of a card in one wonderpick, or the pick only has cards you want, you can essentially bring your 1/5 short up to even a 5/5 depending on someones pack.

@ I am having fun, in fact I’m having fun playing “mostly” casually. However, have you considered that maximising your chances and being efficient can also be extremely fun? Your comments about this being for “degens” or that players who do this are wasting their time, or are gaining nothing from it are categorically false. If you don’t want to play like this don’t, but let people who do enjoy the game the way they like to enjoy it. Games like Balatro, Cookie Clicker, Factorio, Slay the Spire, Hades etc etc are proof that people love to find ways to optimise how they play and gain enjoyment from that.

if you can answer, I have a question about the dead rate you mentioned: if I opened a god pack on a new account, and I've opened like 8 packs in total and nothing else, if I add the account to my main and it doesn't show up immediately in the wonder pick it has absolutely 0 chance to appear in the next 2 or 3 days? Because with only 8 packs, it should eventually cycle to it if I do not open more packs

Yes that should be right. As you heard from the video, we are constantly refining our understanding of wonder pick. But based on current understanding there's a 90% chance the pack wouldn't be able to show up on anyone's account at all. Whether it will definitely show up as the first wonder pick or not - this needs to be verified by Newbie. You can ping Newbie on my discord to get them to check if you have such a pack.

I have a question regarding this method: say I don't want to bother with the friend request deals. Can I use a second phone to start a reroll account, get a GP, turn off WP, then friend request my reroll account on my main, and then see the GP on WP on main? Also, just to be clear, 3-star and crown cards cannot show up on WP, right? Only cards up to 2-star.

@marcgomez8391 yes of course. That's the original method. Just do it yourself. However as I explained in the last 4 videos leading up to this point, there is a "dead rate" meaning 2* packs won't even have a chance to show on your main 90% of the time even if you manage to roll it on your alt accounts.

I just pulled a god pack with starmie ex 2 star, machamp ex 2 star and sabrina 2 star as well as 2 charmander full arts (bloody heck I got 6 of those now) so I was just looking to help people lol. But now that you mentioned the friend code will be public and I only want to be friends with people I know, maybe I'll just hold on that. I turned off sharing the packs and hoooopefully my siblings/friends will get a god pack pull from me.

Good luck! Let us know if you need help verifying but yes it can become public. Some hosts have restrictions on who can add to reduce the numbers. It's up to the host to decide.

Not that I know of. I know you want it easy but our community gathers to test each other's WPs to see if they're alive. Without testers in the same community, there wouldnt be confirmed alive packs. Some players are opting to bot alive packs but that's a whole different discussion and could be a ban risk at some point.

The 4 friend picks are added on top of random picks. Random picks seem to be mutually exclusive to friend picks.

People find better success when they interact with the host on chat. Of course it's not a method for everyone as it's more time invested (but so is opening packs and using wonder picks on bad packs).

Thanks for all the info, really appreciate your work. I'm a bit confused as to how god pack appears as the first draw in the wonder pick. If the host pulled 4 times in the last 24 hours and toggle the settings off to share after getting a god pack, you still have 1/4 chance to see it, if not less if god packs appears a lot less. What is the effect of waiting 4 hours with a free list here?

nothing bro, pokemon nerds go above and beyond for dumb sht like this. after the first week this is really a game you just check up on once in the morning and at night when you have your packs, no need for all this extra crap if you just wanna casually play. all they're doing is adding and unadding people that got a god pack in hopes It comes out in wonderpicks. its the most degen sht ever bro lol. imagine unadding your irl friends cause you wanna add randoms in hopes for a pack you can only get one card from, but hey, these nerds are so persistent, they probably will complete the dex easier this way

The odds of completing the dex using packs only is very bad. The last 2 star card you need will take you 380 packs to get using packs only. Hopefully trading will rectify this, but wonder pick is basically the only way to complete a dex reasonably. The first draw mechanism isn't fully understood but it's been widely reported that some hosts give first pack god pack to friends. Unfortunately this data is with Newbie the maker of the sheet and I don't have it. However sometimes it's reported not first pack and we don't understand why. As I said we don't have a perfect understanding on WP yet.

Every time Newbie sees a new host and verified first pack god pack. As you can imagine with dead rate of 90%, it's not easy to find such hosts.

If you are actively watching the chats, then you'll often get in the first batch. If not, you can ask the host when or how they are running the queue/lists. Because god packs are desirable, it takes time to help everyone through the queue.

What happens if you have 3 friends? Will the 4th friend wonder pick slot sit there waiting for you to add a 4th friend and work the same or will it populate it with packs from your 3 friends?

Theoretically it should work with 3 and you only play around with the 4th slot. However as you can imagine testing on this is limited. Most want to add 4 hosts at a time and make all 4 friend slots available. One of the reasons is even if you manage to request friend, they may not immediately accept. You might want to add several hosts at a time to maximize your chances.

@TheCackling yes but getting on the waitlist is the difficult part. You don't know if maybe the host is asleep or away etc. The original method you can interact with the host and they can let you know they're away so you don't waste time trying to spam friend request.

Unfortunately you'll have to delete those friends (as harsh as it may be, but if they also knew how to do this method they'd probably agree). It *could* work but there is a higher risk of failure and you make the host wait for you longer.

The only parts not guaranteed to work: 1 if you can't make it through the friend list. When more hosts get added (Newbie is working hard daily to add more) there will be more opportunities. 2 if the pack expires after 3 days

The thing about the IRL friends - I agree. I also didn't want to remove them, but the moment I explained what I had to do for research (and subsequently they all joined in getting god packs too) it was all good. It's ultimately up to you of course.
