Hi! As a person from Slovakia, I must say our capital city is really ugly. Please Damon ( or anyone else reading this comment ;) ) next time visit Banská Štiavnica, a beautiful, antique, romantic town just like from a fairytale! Lovely cafes, history, views, and affordable prices for such a gem in Europe.

As a polish person I can’t really come up with one answer. As far as I’ve noticed we tend to live in our bubbles so it’s really hard to make connection with us. But I guess it’s a case for most of the Eastern Europeans due to lack of trust to others. There was an information spread about homophobia in Poland which is true. The authorities are trying to emphasis division among society and they’re playing games using minorities. In general most of the people are tolerant and understanding. But it’s all new to them.

It's a shame so much was closed in Bratislava! A few years back I was in Paris waiting in line for the Catacombs and spoke with two Slovakian women. Had never heard much about Slovakia other than it formerly being Yugoslavia and a part of the USSR. Our conversation peaked my interest so I added a few days onto my trip to Budapest and explored. It quickly became one of my favorite cities in Europe. It was the summer and there were outdoor markets, it was easily navigatable, the beer was phenomenal, very affordable for the young traveler and the people were very welcoming and content with their quieter way of life in the backdrop of tourist megacenters such as Budapest, Prauge, and Vienna all being a stones throw away. I dined in a restaurant atop a tower on a bridge overlooking the old part of the city and the soviet housing blocs and attended a summer folk festival on castle grounds. It really is a great place, hopefully if we ever stop reeling from COVID you can return and enjoy it in it's full glory! A hidden gem if you ask me but not so hidden anymore! Best of luck on your travels- have followed you for quite a few years now and your content is A1- be safe out there!

Because of Covid and lots of hard work for Uni I started to experience anxiety and feel like I don't have any energy left for my future, everything was kind of the same you know? I used to watch the ShutUpandGo channel while in high school and dream about all the travels and life changing experiences that I'm going to have in the future. I even had this notepad where I would write down tips for when I'll be over 18 and be able to travel the world. I forgot all about that. But now, years later, watching your videos which full of energy and your free nature I remembered! I remembered all about my plans and felt that itch for exploring once again! I don't really know where I'm going from here, but I can only hope is somewhere far away :) What I'm trying to say is Thank you Damon! HOW-EVERRR, if you’re staying in the forest or mountains (like I was), I think it’s definitely a nice getaway!
