@N00BSYBORG5 жыл бұрын
@@kohalurker I don't think you understand why the meme is funny. Nobody made up the accusation that Smash players smell bad. It's a real thing the Smash community brought up itself because it was becoming an actual problem. To the point where it was threatening to get them kicked out of venues. The locals at these venues started calling the days Smash tournaments were held "Stinky Days" because the smell was so bad. So yes it's absolutely inherent to the community if it's that much of an issue within the community itself. "Stinky Day" has never been a thing for any other fighting game community.

@@4ever3052pac Memes can absolutely have drips of truth behind them. All a meme is is a conditioned response to certain trigger words or themes in online content. See the word melee=Comment that they stink. It's not so much a joke anymore as it is an instant reaction. I don't play melee and i have been around fgc events where the melee pit stunk. It's not that no melee players have hygiene issues. But every video with melee in the title on youtube for the last five years has the same joke with little variation or change. Obviously after 100 some episodes even at a quick three or four seconds per game it would still be too long after awhile unless you made seasons and only added scenes per seasons to the intro then started over each new season. in 2001 i was 6 years old. for christmas i got a gamecube. i got soul calibur 2, return of the king, and metroid prime. my cousin had, among a bunch of games (ghost recon, tales of symphonia, army men rts, wind waker, mario kart, and mario sunshine, from what i remember), smash. he got an xbox and gave me all his gamecube games. and smash was one of my favorites. it still is. i didn't know that competitive smash even existed in modern days until very recently, probably around the time of this stream actually. of course i know now the memes etc, but... whatever. it doesn't matter that some people at smash tournaments have been controller-throwing shirt-removing face-screaming cringelord babyrage manchild losers. most smash players are just ordinary people who like the game. maybe they REALLY like the game. the passion and love i see reggie and these guys rival that of lobosjr towards dark souls or bawkbasoup towards resident evil (or pat towards the good silent hill games). this is a good video.

Coaching I think can be a bit iffy depending on the game. With Smash Bros, if it was more common for it to not be banned, it should only be between rounds (like a best of 3) and before a match, because yelling instructions and advice at someone during a game would likely be more distracting than helpful. It's why in a boxing or really any competitive event, coaches aren't going yelling their strategies for everyone to hear. Using boxing specifically, you don't yell out "they're leaving their left side open, focus that and get hits in there!" The other person's gonna hear that and defend their left side. That type of stuff you tell the fighter between rounds. Of course League of Legends is kind of the big one for esports coaching, where the coaches are recognized as the 6th teammate. That game does have a bit more leeway for various reasons. Pros at the game will avoid having drawn out fights especially during the early game. I actually don't know if coaches are allowed to talk with their team during a match, but if they are it shouldn't be too hard for them to chime in while the game's slower. Just quickly tell the top laner "hey, bot lane is getting constantly pushed up, look to set up an opportunity to teleport down there. I'll go tell them to try to keep wards up whenever they push the lane out.

Wait, so is it common for top level players to take adderall? Wouldnt that be a PED? this is still a competition, I'm an mma fighter but I still consider games a sport especially fighting games, just because the level of dedication it takes to be a top level player is the same if not higher than my sport and others. Actually I'd argue it's harder because they dont have to hold back the amount of hours of training due to physical limitations, so the meta advances at an exponential rate. Anyway back to my point, is there drug testing in evo? And are certain substances like adderall, marijuana, and others banned due to heightened focus? If not, how many of the top players are abusing that? These are questions we have to ask to keep shit equal
