For those not in the know (mostly non-Canadians), 59:38 is absolutely real. This happened way back when Chevron started their efforts to illegally build oil pipelines through Wet'Suwet'En land, and they really were this fucking clueless, disrespectful and evil in their half-assed stunts to make it seem like they had a deal with the Unis'tot'en tribe. Things only escalated from there and the Canadian government got heavily involved (on the side of the oil companies). The unfortunate result is that the tribes lost, their sovereignty was disregarded and even though the province joined in to fight against it, construction has since been ongoing. It's a fucking depressing story and the ridiculousness of this scene really only scratches the surface of it.

So to add my own embarassing "meeting woolie and the gang" story. This was when i went to MagFest for the first time, which was also my first time traveling by myself. So i was already an awkward mess. I was at the newyorkgames booth and there was Woolie on a mission to find the Shovel Knight amiibo. As someone who grew up reading the Animorphs, i can confirm the series is wild. I think i read somewhere that the series had a lot of authors who used the same name. It's this reason why you'd have some stories involving atlantis that were absolutely awful, and others like the hork bajir chronicles that were actually pretty good from what i remember. You're definitely rolling the dice for every book lol

I read a ahitload of animorphs books as a kid and although i didnt get every book in order, and its the craziest stuff that i love , tobias who gets stuck as a hawk goes back in time to touch himself to transform into his human form , also the alien abin sur type who is responsible for gicing them their powers is his secret alien dad and im pretty sure his alien dad is brothers with the alien member of the team , theres been plenty of prequels and wasnt there an alternate unvierse what if book and choose your own adventure book . Also anything to do with the yeerks possesing people is always interesting

It can legitimately be fun and an interesting mix of both RPG and grand strategy. Though like a lot of Paradox games they attract people who just want to do the least savoury things possible in the game and revel in it. Like all the people who just keep playing genocidal runs in Stellaris or having literal Nazis conquer the world in Hearts of Iron. The Game of Thrones mods are fun though in the crusader king games and it’s pretty funny to see how you can twist the story. Probably the best Game of Thrones game despite it not being its own game. Ultimately though I’d recommend staying away from a lot of the fan base. As that video made really apparent haha.

The main thing being that playing as a sane person will eventually wear you down until you just accept that the game put the systems in place for a reason, be them good or bad. Fuck trying to play by the rules after the fourth character in a row that dies a couple of years before you can change succession laws again because 20 hours earlier in the game you died and your shithead uncle fucked you over, splintered your realm in a million pieces and probably killed the run (or whatever fun you were having up to that moment). Though the incest stuff really doesn't give any advantage, UNLESS you manage to reform your pagan religion and make incest be a holy thing, in which case it's still bad in game but you get a couple of green numbers in there.
