Hi Sonya - you asked (rhetorically, I am sure) if it was helpful to have a video like this even though no recipes are included. Answer is YES! there are many of us, especially ba'alot teshuva, for whom this is exactly what we need: to see and understand how the Friday afternoon preparations flow goes and to get good ideas for making it work for us. Recipes are great and we can get them from lots of places (including your other videos) but real modeling about how to make it all work so one can be calm and enter shabbat with pleasure is so valuable and I would welcome more videos like this if you think of anything else you can show us that helps.

Either you've had professional training, or your mother taught you very well. Very nice display of skills, e.g., blade, breadmaking, etc. Watching somebody chop an onion is often a good indicator of cooking skills. Very nice, textbook skills.

Marina, you aren't wrong for asking that. It is very hard depending upon your situation. By the time we get home from work and practices, we eat around 7ish. My kids aren't good sleepers and I'm not either so are routine isn't the ideal but we do what we can. Sonya is a boss tho! She amazes me at how many things she handles at a time. B"H A perfect example of a Jewish women's responsibilities. Never ending, and always perfect for Shabbat. One thing missing, was setting a Shabbat table. And the traditional Chicken soup. 😂 Your amazing. Filming and doing everything at the same time. The doing, I do. But not the filming. For some years, as I'm 72, I helped the Rabinzin prepare for Shabbat. It was always for at least 10, And perhaps 20 at times. Great job, G-D Bless. P.S. Tip, I put walnuts into zip lock, and smash with rolling pin. Much faster. LOL. Most times the children would do the smashing. It made them feel they participated in making Shabbat.

I guess the key is to know how much you can accomplish and not over do it. Its also perspective. I can absolutely throw my hands up in the air and not do anything, but that is not how I want my family to be raised. There is nothing wrong with taking short cuts and buying premade salads and meals but there is just something special about seeing a mother cooking and working hard to make ever lasting memories for the family. It makes an impression on the children and husband. I feel like it creates a beautiful bond and appreciation.
