Yep! When they reacted to You've Got the Look, I don't know if they'd reacted to Sheena on her own yet, so I don't think they recognized her, then when they did Morning Train, like they said, she was so sweet and innocent there, still hadn't made the connection. But if they had reacted to Strut or Sugar Walls, THEN You've Got the Look, they would've recognized her!

True. It was like HS and university crept slowly while it was happening, and then sped up! Life seemed to do the same! Goodness knows I miss my 80's! Sheena Easton's career seemed to start in 1980 and fizzled out by 1990, my formative years. I did find an album of hers performing old pop and jazz songs with strings like Linda Ronstadt's "Round Midnight" and Carly Simon's "My Romance" albums.

Actually written for his backing singer Jill Jones but Sheena was a bigger name and was looking to toughen up her image, so the song was passed along to her and was one of her biggest hits.

This makes me soooooooo happy! Sheena Easton has been and remains one of my top 10 favorite female vocalists since I was a little kid. The first album I ever personally asked to be bought for me was her 1983 album "Best Kept Secret" and I adore her for ALL the reasons you highlighted in your discussion here. The clarity and control she shows in her voice is among the best of all pop vocalists, for my money. She's so precise while also being so emotionally effective. A lot of people have requested "for your eyes only" there's a live version of that song which really highlights how good she is. I had always assumed it had taken dozens of takes to get that song right. Then she just walked out and proved me wrong. Truly a great singer!

There's a song called "Get It" by Stevie Wonder & Michael Jackson. Sheena Easton released some New Jack Swing songs in the late 1980s & early 1990s. One is "The Lover In Me" produced by Babyface & L.A. Reid, who were members of the R&B band The Deele. Sheena was also in a few episodes of the 1980s cop show "Miami Vice". A lot of other music artists appeared on the show too like Phil Collins, Little Richard, Miles Davis, & James Brown.

Never really listened to much of Sheena Easton, but more than any other song I remember "9 to 5 Morning Train" back in the very early 80's. I mean, every time you turned on a radio or got in the car, that song was playing. Probably her earliest hit and the song was somewhat unusual at the time. It was very Pop.
