Getting your child when you want to, here and there, just to take them on the block to impress your homes is not parenting. Putting your child in dangerous situations, hoping he models after your lifestyle is insane. And what is up with parents thinking they get to be bothered with THEIR children only when they feel like it? I wanted believe him but the more she spoke I realize he was trying to pull the crazy baby momma card. He’s inconsistent, unorganized, and unreliable. Children need consistency. If you’re picking up a child who is used to structure and have nothing for them to do, the child is going to ask for the parent that gives the, security and structure. The mother obviously has structure. This man wants her to drop what she has to do when he’s ready to be around and then drop everything when he’s done. The son wouldn’t ask for his mom if they did something that interested him. It’s not about taking them places, it’s about talking to your child, making a positive connection, using what they tell you to engage in their interests that makes them want to be around you more!

All your assumptions seem valid mine is based on the last statement that came out of her mouth about he being a dad to the older child. The child is still very young and it's natural if he desires to go to his mom because he's more familiar with her. It's got nothing to do with doing anything interesting to him. Even if they did, after a while a child will most likely ask to see the "main" parent once they are tired. All the assumption about being inconsistent, unorganized and unreliable are all based on what the judge projected nothing in the evidence shows she's more consistent, organized and reliable than him. In this case I believe they are equally responsible to make things work out for the best in terms of parenting. The judge should have suggested a mediator.

The "she won't let me see my son" allows him to escape accountability because if he really wanted to have his son on a regular basis instead of when it's just convenient for him, he would've taken her to court to fight for visitation or joint custody. However, he hasn't because he doesn't want to be ordered to pay child support or be consistent with getting his son. They both seem like they're using their son as a pawn to annoy each other. They're too focused on trying to be petty without putting their child first. Also, who knows what the co-parenting relationship is like with his other baby mama or how active he is in that child's life.

Breaking News: The Judge is correct. If the man goes down to child support voluntarily (that's where it ends up anyway), and quickly, child support is fair in turns of the percentage of his gross income they will take. Thats a deadbeat’s favorite speech “Its about materialistic things when it comes to the mother.” Not all fathers, cause sometimes its true. But when a deadbeat says that knowing they don’t provide ANYTHING for their child is the lowest of low. I’ve witnessed some say this but they love materialistic things for themselves. They will grow hair and have to spend money for styles, buy expensive clothing, etc. Yet complain about the mother.

I mean if he’s inconsistent in his child’s life, that can really mess up a child’s mental. He takes his child on the block as well and in Chicago kids get killed everyday. Buying clothes and shoes is not child support. A child needs food, supplements, toiletries, heat, etc. Get out of here with shoes and hair cut!!! You don't have to go to court. Open a bank acct for your child, come to an agreement and make sure its there in the acct. You have bank records and a written agreement. The Government doesn't need to be in your business.

Wtf he mean he shouldn't have to knock on the door; he shouldn't have a key when he doesn't live there just b/c they have a child. They have each other's numbers, so I guess it doesn't matter that he's blocked on social media, but you have to have a way to communicate with the other parent whether you like each other anymore or not. He doesn't want to financially provide for his son, yet he complains that his son doesn't look nice enough with fly clothes and shoes... Help her provide for him so she has enough to buy him nicer things. Feeding and housing him takes precedence over shallow things like name brand shoes that the ghetto dads are always concerned with and never care about more important things. He said, "Getting me to love him for a second, then snatching him away "...Um, you should love him at ALL times; not just for a "second" whenever she gets you to get the child to bond with him.

@@K_Cole0128 Facts! I was side eyeing her for continuing to allow her child to go with him when he keeps putting him in the wrong environments! She definitely needs to get it set up with supervised visits in a safe location, b/c it sounds like she grew up and grew past him, but this hood booger man isn't growing up any time soon to make safer wiser choices as a father, and it's not a game out here... They should go to the court and invoke their parental rights by filling for joint custody. I never wanted someone to ever tell me when I could see my son. So I filed for joint custody and got it. In the custody order I made sure I had all the rights that she had as a mother and the judge gave it to me. He can do the same thing.
