Judge Mathis

2 жыл бұрын

The plaintiff says the defendant is her son. She claims he punched her in the face and put her in a chokehold during a recent argument, so she’s suing for emotional distress, the cost of a car, and tires. The defendant admits he hit his mother but insists it was in self-defense. He’s countersuing because he claims his mother lied about his biological father. #JudgeMathis #RealityTV #Court

he admitted to hitting his mom, yet the judge “doesn’t know who to believe”
@tincredible
@tincredible Жыл бұрын
The judge knows that the son hit the mom, but the judge doesn't know who the aggressor was (i.e. who struck first). That's an issue unto itself because legally, the son has the same right to self-defense here as he would if any other adult had struck him. The right to self-defense isn't cancelled just because of the familial relationship between the parties. Regarding self-defense, the only thing that matters is whether the mom posed an imminent threat to the son's person in that moment. I think people have a gut reaction to this because we live in a culture where there is no stigma associated with parents hitting children, but there is a stigma attached to offspring hitting parents. Perhaps if we worked to normalize a society that stigmatizes hitting ANY human being for reasons other than self-defense or sport/recreational boxing, these types of cases would be rarer.

From the young man’s side of the story she started it first and he reacted that’s completely normal.. I’m not saying it’s ok to hit women but women do need to understand after a young man reaches a certain age you can’t react to their behavior any kind of way because they will have a bad reaction it’s natural and Judge Mathis did say he doesn’t know who to believe and I agree because their stories don’t even match up 🤷🏽‍♀️ and he hit his mom because of a reaction it’s not like he blatantly went up to his mother and punched her in her face or something nor was it premeditated the Judge helped them and that’s what matters 👏🏾👏🏾

This has to be one of the saddest, and quite honestly heartbreaking online experiences that I have viewed in a long time. Not because of the alleged actions of the Defendant..but because of the completely mind boggling actions of whom I have considered for many of years to be my absolute most trusted TV judge, in the area of giving hard at times, but righteous in action rulings. I left the viewing feeling as though the alleged acts, were somehow given justification by Judge Mathis. The Mother's failure to tell her son (THE RAW), about his Father was out of love for her son. But furthermore, the Mother's life according to her testimony, happened to a CHILD, who knocked it out the box as an adult to make sure that HER child did not suffer the same brokenness. And quite honestly the son has no right, nor place to judge as a child...sounded as though e was MORE than well cared for. Bottom line...there is NEVER a justification for striking a parent...PERIOD!!!! I am ashamed of Judge Mathis on this issue, and feel that this ruling will further create other children to believe that they have rights to assault and attack their parents lives. He would NEVER have struck his Mother, nor even thought to do so!. SHAME!!!!

The son admitted to hitting his mother with a closed fist; I can't believe I just wrote that, and on top of that, the judge just read a text where he's bragging to his mom, "that's why you got your ass beat". So the conclusion the judge came up with is that he does not get the impression that this kid is abusive and he doesn't know who to believe? I think it's time for Judge Mathis to step down. There was a time that alone would have caused him to go off on the son/daughter saying since you know everything and you're so grown, get out and get your own. It appears Judge Mathis has allowed the opinions of others to dictate how he responds to the parent/child relationship. This boy could have walked away to never return to his mother's home if she assaulted/attacked him. He didn't because he likes the things she does for him and the gifts she gives. Just because he comes across as a level headed person at the moment doesn't mean he can't flip the script. I've known quite a few people that were well mannered, well spoken and well educated that were bat shit crazy.

My mother and father told me to defend myself, if a person hits me first, that gives me every god damn reason to hit them back. I had very bad experience about not fighting back which landed me in the hospital. If the mother hit him first, that gives him the right to hit her back for self-defense, because if he didn’t hit back, the mother would probably still hit him more

Judge Mathis can be so hypocritical and appalling at times. The boy admitted that he punched his mom but the judge did not speak to him about such a horrible act. However, the judge said his mom beat him down and he deserved it. He didn't teach the young man that it is inexcusable to strike a woman, particularly his mother. The young man may think it is okay to do it again because even a judge wouldn't confront him. Unbelievable! I am unsubscriing.

Yeah I’m very disappointed with the Judge… He’s been changing a lot lately, either he’s not letting a person get the whole story out or he’s doing this… He goes on these rants but doesn’t address the issues.. SMDH

She’s heavy handed with her mouth. I can see she was not the best parent. He needs to bounce for a while and really become a responsible man it won’t be easy but he needs a few physical years away from her. Boundaries , she’s to defensive she never said sorry for.......anything. This guy has potential big time.

Being in a black house hold it’s expected to take your mom’s abuse and once you react at the same level they operate.. your a bad person but that’s what your being taught when you have a problem it’s okay to be explosive and be mean/ loud .. Those angry out bursts are only being absorbed.. Your child is what you put into them 💯
