Hi Lori! Love your videos! I know this video is over a year old and you may have already updated your inventory system by now, but I wanted to let you know what I do and it has been working for me so far. I already pretty much do the exact same process as you with regard to buying, cleaning, listing, etc. I log each item onto a spreadsheet, and I have a column for "location". I have my bins numbered consecutively. So, I list a shirt, log it on the spreadsheet and put it in Bin 1 and note the location. Same with the next item. When Bin 1 is full, I move on to Bin 2. I don't bother grouping like items together in a bin because I feel that gets cumbersome and a little restrictive. Then as I sell items and some of the bins start to empty out, I can place new items in those bins and just note it on the spreadsheet. So my 100th item might be in Bin 2 because I had some room free up in that bin. (And if it's a hanging item, I just note "hanging" in the location column). I do have everything in the same room, so it's easy for me to see all my bins (which isn't anywhere near the volume you have). But, anyhow just wanted to share what works for me as you asked us to drop you a note and share :) Hopefully it makes sense. Thanks again for all you do! I know it's time consuming, but it is very much appreciated!!!

Just watched this video series, so super helpful! Just wanted to share my thoughts with the community, I would say the buyer giving the 3-star review on packaging to be fair, unless they sent a photo of how they received the packaged we don't know for sure how it arrived to them. I'm on both sides as a seller and a buyer and I have received items where the package seams bursted during shipment; so it may not be because of "pretty" packing, it could be something related damaged packaging during shipment. Just my thought, anyways, thank you again Lori, you are truly amazing and have inspired me to get back into reselling more seriously rather than casually. 😊

I love your series! I’ve been reselling for almost a year and I find that there’s always something new to learn and you show me something I didn’t think about. I separate things by what they are currently and it’s not as good as a system as what you have so I really think you’re super organized! Definitely know things can always be more organized but at the end of the day if it’s easy to find and a good system for you then that’s all that matters! I like the poly slips you have I might start doing that I had someone complain their sweater got wet during a rainstorm but she still loved the sweater thankfully and I don’t want that to happen for someone else.

Love this series Lori! So helpful! I have a question on something that seems obvious but it always gets me-what do you do when a buyer adds one item to a bundle? With no other likes. Just send them an offer? I don’t know what but that scenario is such a stopper for me.
@LorisBostonFound4 жыл бұрын
Sometimes I think potential buyers use their bundles as a cart and they don't always plan on buying. It really depends on the day for me. I might just ask if they have any questions and send an offer. xo

I use a sharing service as well. NOT BOTS though. Humans share my closet throughout the day as opposed to a certain number of times a day. It has been a game changer since I am a part-time seller with a large closet (700-800 items presently) and a full time elementary school teacher. Always love your videos! A suggestion for large items like that blanket...use the priority mail large square box. it is taller and deeper. That blanket was delicious!!

I hope I'm not making a huge mistake by talking about this...I just couldn't do it any more and I feel like it's a huge elephant in the room. I hope that Poshmark comes out with their own sharing service or some way to lighten the load of their sellers with over a thousand items. I'm hoping to see some change in the near future.
@bumblebee81584 жыл бұрын
@@LorisBostonFound I've heard it's to help level the playing field for closets of all sizes. Empty Hanger explains it best. I believe Posh was designed for individuals selling their own items - reselling is fine also, but the little fish will get swallowed up by the big ones if your entire closet could be shared w/ the push of 1 button. It's nice that there are many selling platforms to choose from, each w/ their own strength.

Thank you for sharing these. I adore how REAL they are. I think it is very important to know that the big sellers also get a less than 5 star rating. I'm in so many groups and I see people heartbroken over anything less than 5 stars. I get it on one hand.We want everyone to be thrilled with their purchase, and possibly be a return customer later. But, these lower ratings aren't necessarily a bad thing. It gives us room for improvement. It's nice to just see you take it in stride and talk about it. It's something all sellers encounter eventually. PS I envy your setup! My living room is currently taken up by popup closets, bins and boxes. My husband said we just have to buy a bigger house. LOL

Nice video.... sometimes I get overwhelmed by the amount of tasks involved in the reselling work... I sell hard goods only and I also use those colorful soft IKEA totes called Dröna. I have two walls of IKEA shelves with dozens of Dröna boxes in every possible color ever made... I started using those boxes to recycle my children’s old LEGO storage boxes. Anyway. Since you asked for tips I recommend you number each item in each box... I numbered my boxes by color and went further by numbering the items inside each box. Let’s say you are numbering the items in your C line.... you have C1-01, C1-02 etc... and keeping doing it D4-155... G3-77.... the small numbers will disappear and the numbers will keep getting high as you sell items and add new items in each box with new listing numbers. I still keep my lists, with all the items I keep in every box, listed and numbered on my large notebook (even if I’ve started transferring them to a spreadsheet), I then write the number on a regular paper sticker and place the sticker with the number on the item and throw the item in the right tote. You can also add the number to the listing and that makes everything easier. You can also use those numbers as your SKU. With numbered boxes and numbered items, even with an amateurish system of lists, half searchable on a spreadsheet and most of it on an old notebook, any one can step in to help you, they will find the item number on the notebook lists, package and ship... the numbers will keep growing... you will be listing item F3-99 and your item F3-17 has not sold yet... but the important is that every item in every box has a number and a description that can be searched on your spreadsheet... not the easiest way for someone with thousands items in your inventory like you... my entire inventory is around 500-600 hundred items ... I’m trying to become a better curator and starter selling less items for more... that is another topic though....
@claudiapastor4 жыл бұрын
Btw, if you can afford to hire some help, placing numbered stickers is a great first task for a new help... the helper will go through every box, add numbered stickers to the plastic bags, add the corresponding numbers to the listings on both Poshmark and eBay, add numbers to the spreadsheet or notebook for manual search.... once the person help you set the system, she can help you with anything else...

One of the big VAs got shut down and I have noticed during my usual sharing something kept interrupting my sharing and I contacted PoshMark about it and they said they were updating their system but it is just weird how this was happening at the same time as the VA / bots were getting shut down . @hunterryan4 жыл бұрын
Using an automated service or "bot" is not able to legally be banned for those that have a disability that limits use of the system as it is made because Poshmark does not have accessibility tools for those with various disabilities . The American's with Disabilities Act precludes a company from requiring anyone with a disability from having to provide the information related to their disability and adaptability tools needed UNLESS that person is requiring tools or accommodation they need the company to provide. So as far as the person that has the mob out with torches and pitchforks calling everyone using any automation tool a fraud, lazy, a cheater, "entitled" , "privileged" and the other colorful words they are blanketly throwing out with out even a concern that they are actually victimizing those with disabilities that HAVE to pay for an automation just to use Poshmark. But hey maybe they think we should not be allowed to sell there cause they have decided to be judge, jury and executioner without even knowing all the LAWS protecting those with disabilities from judgmental jerks like them.
