Your comment about putting your phone all over the place resonated! My life changed when I bought a Bandolier cross body phone holder. As a mom of 3 young kids I like having my phone easily accessible to take photos, and attached to me so I don't drop it. But it also really upped my resale game! I can easily access my phone to look up comps while thrifting and also have it on me for photos.

Poshmark took my listing for Prada Shoes down. It didn't contain stock photos. I don't use stock photos at all. But I used the word "Prada" along the side of the cover photo which I got from the internet. Thank goodness I save all my photos in a file until the item is sold. So I was able to recreate my listing deleting the trademark Prada name. They do delete your whole listing so it's a lot a work to retake photos if you don't save them.

Thank you so much for your tips on stock photos. I’ve been on Poshmark for a month just doing a major closet decluttering. I’ve added some stock photos just bc I thought it’s more helpful but your correct I feel maybe it’s not “right”. So I’m taking them down. Love your videos.

I love these videos so much. I'm a new posher and I am so very overwhelmed! These help tremendously and make me feel like i can continue to grow and develop my online selling. I have had a bad week on Poshmark and it's just a learning process. It's just easy to feel down about how things go. I thought I'd sold a nice item. Nope.. just a scammer trying to get a free bag.

As a buyer measurements are a requirement. Sizing differs and sometimes things shrink or stretch. I have bypassed many listings because they weren’t included and I feel bad asking and then not buying.
@LorisBostonFound4 жыл бұрын
Yes Carol! My guess is that many people don't want to ask for measurements either b/c they don't want to wait for an answer or they don't want to bother the seller. Either way, I bet many people just move on. Thanks so much for watching! xo

Lori do you steam cashmere ? Also do you have a trick how to get rid of perfume smell ? I have one item that's can't be washed and perfume is so strong I don't know what to do :-(
@LorisBostonFound4 жыл бұрын
I definitely steam cashmere and I lightly steam silk. I use "Zero Odor" spray and it really helps neutralize smells when used with a steamer. Here is the link to what I use: www.amazon.com/dp/B000A5E9F2/?tag=aiponsite-20&linkCode=ic5&ascsubtag=amzn1.infl.us.product&creativeASIN=B000A5E9F2&ref=exp_loritata_dp_vv_d

Hiya Lori, congrats to your daughter! I’ll send speedy healing vibes to Lucky, such a sweetie💚. There’s no debate on using stock photos, it’s considered plagiarism. Your photos are copyrighted by you as well. Copyrights don’t just pertain to writing, it covers photographs, graphics, artwork. Imagine if someone had exactly the same item as you. They like your photos so swipe and use for their listing. You did all the work to create those photos & they belong to you. Not very nice, fair, or the right thing to do to steal your photos for their benefit. Stock photos look great as they were taken by a pro photographer, are on a model both who’ve been contracted & paid by the company who then owns them. Plagiarism is stealing & we know that’s wrong. Not directing this at you (you know I adore you😘), just a heads up to all who thinks it’s ok to steal others hard work. Fab video; i agree taking measurements is easy, fast & will save time in the long run! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️

Do you use a ring light for your clothing and shoes? I struggle with getting enough natural light and don't have enough space for shadow box lights like some use. Thanks!
@LorisBostonFound4 жыл бұрын
Hi Emily. Yes! I use a ring light for my pictures (I probably should have mentioned that in my video 😂) I use to have the box lights but they took up too much space (and they broke after 9 months).

I use a ring light for my photos. I started with natural lighting but now everything is in my basement and I rely on Amazon's photo box and my ring light.

I’m new to Poshmark 2 months Still trying to understand the community all I know is I’m flooded with followers I haven’t sold anything and what is that mean when someone ad your item in a bundle?
@LorisBostonFound4 жыл бұрын
You gain followers pretty quickly on Poshmark. You can create bundles for people as aa way to help your customer save a little money on shipping. Sometimes if you like a few items someone will create a bundle for you. You can do it too. It's also a nice way to communicate privately with your potential buyers b/c there is a private comment feature in all bundles.

I would never buy online without measurements and fabric content listed. And I don’t have time to contact a seller for them, I’ve shopped for clothes enough to know what measurements in certain fabrics work for me, but it took some trial and error to figure this out 😏
@LorisBostonFound4 жыл бұрын
I need measurements when I buy too, especially with preowned clothing!
@sunshinedream77724 жыл бұрын
Lori Tata I thought I’d give you an update on how this worked for me when trying to find shorts that fit me on poshmark. Over 50% of sellers didn’t have sizes or fabrics listed. The ones that took pictures with a tape measure were way too small for me to see without blowing them up, and even then they were hard to see. A few of the sellers were taking front rise measurements from the top back of the shorts to the crotch 😯 I actually broke down and contacted some for measurements etc. Only 2 got back to me. I did go ahead and bundle a couple of pairs and the seller sent me an offer “I couldn’t refuse” lol. Hopefully they fit when I get them :)

Am I the only one that has trouble with a dress for example - taking the picture in square mode - or portrait mode . No matter how I try to edit ( whether the iPhone 8 editing or pic tap go ). I either have half a dress - or a dress with a huge wall on the left and right . I love thrifting dresses .... but gosh I am not listing them because I cannot get the photo correct .

I have been selling for less than a month and have binge-watched your videos. You have a great voice! I love the idea of the poly bags but don’t you think it’s wasteful. I know they are great for storage purposes but so much plastic waste. I live in California so it might be a west coast thing to always think of the environment.
@LorisBostonFound4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching Cat! Yes, I have battled with myself over the poly bags. They are wasteful. However at this stage of the game, they give me peace of mind after I have cleaned and prepped an item. They also allow me to see the item in my bins. I've looked into recyclable packaging and the cost is really high. I have considered lightweight paper bags for storage (but my inventory system isn't that efficient and I still need to see the items in my bins...always a work in progress! Please let me know if you have any tips! 💕

Has anyone else considered using Greener Walker 100% compostable, biodegradable, Food Kitchen Waste Bags for some of your smaller sold items? I personally would appreciate someone using compostable bags but I wonder if most people would feel offended about the word "trash bags?"

First time seeing you. I did like this video. It would had been nice seeing you photograph several types of things. Prayers for Lucky. I lost my Cloe this last month. It’s been painful. Congratulations to your daughter. I feel stock photos are cheating. They are wrong to use as with bots. My daughter was a model. She was not allowed to reuse her own photos that the company owned. I was not allowed to use her photos on social media. She could only use them in her folder book. So I’m sure unless we have written consent we are not to use stock photos. I’ll look up your other videos
