Commentary on Cavern of Souls makes me remember that the only hard land destruction spell in the format right now is Fall of Kroog, which is 6 mana because it has a bunch of burn that, at the point in the game you're casting a 6 mana spell, almost certainly does literally nothing and I can't imagine what deck ever runs it. Guess the two Fields probably are gonna see more action.

Your Lord of the Lord of the Rings series brought me in as a viewer, but as to your comment of "I'm not going to convert anyone," you pretty much converted me after I started watching your best of 1 content after that. I mean I wasn't one of the haters either. I just had trouble judging when to counter and when to have patience. A "student of the dojo," as you say.

I actually cut the counter spells from my esper deck a while back. They often just didn't help more than another cut down for example.

Nice deck. I've made Mythic with a modified version of CGB's other UW mill deck that includes Candy Trails and no Jace. I added additional sweepers and Get Lost as well. I'd like to see CGB update that Candy Trails UW mill deck with the new cards. Regarding his philosophy of having no (or few) counters because of Caverns: I've found that counters are still useful because I have plenty of other ways to remove creatures. So counters are for everything else, especially other control decks.

i love UW mill, but i find it way more fun with terisian mindbreaker, the self mill at the start so on turn 4 you can mill half their deck is fun as, probably pretty bad but man is it satisfying when that deck goes off.

This has been my favourite deck to play. Enough removal to have a chance against the most aggro decks, but an absolute joy to play against the super grindy decks. Descend decks rapidly decking themselves for me has been my favourite match up.

my only problem with control decks as far as toxicity to new player experience is a problem i have with a few other archetypes, which is that the archetype only really works if you have insanely expensive ($) cards. As in you cannot even access the archetype in a lot of contexts and whenever you go up against it as a new player it's just a guaranteed very long drawn out death.

I prefer Esper mill, even you only splash black for Breach the Multiverse and Invasion of Tolvada, that is more than enough to close out games on turn 5,6, or 7.

@@ouimeta I could have just not watched, true, and have done on similar videos in the recent past, and this is what we get, a recycled deck with no relevant new cards, less than a week after a new set drops,. Could I have done it without sarcasm, sure, but that wouldn't change the message, you could take out the 2 new cards, replacing Get Lost with Fateful Absence and the creature land with mirrex and we would fundamentally have the same deck with 0 new cards, which is just lazy content. That to me is a perfectly good reason to post a negative comment.
